I think the hotel last year cost us 99 bucks a night and we stayed for 2 nights. Then all you need is money for food and gas. I am sure we will do what we did last year and that is we will leave Thursday afternoon about 2-3pm, depending on when James gets off work if he has to work, and we will meet at the QT in Glenpool. We then head to Dallas and meet up with the crew there for dinner. We stayed at Thomas' house that night and then the next morning we all met up with the rest of the Dallas crew at a truck stop south of Dallas. Then we spend Friday driving down to Kerrville to meet all the other 8's at the hotel. We then went to dinner and then back to the hotel to hangout. Saturday morning roll call for lining up for the run was across the street in the parking lot and we then drove the 3 sisters first part that morning. We stopped at subway and ate lunch and then drove the second leg of the run. Afterwards, we all met up at a little ice cream shop for apple ice cream (best ever) and then back to the hotel. We cleaned up, went to dinner and had a raffle drawing for prizes there and then back to the hotel to party it up and have fun for our last night. The next morning we all got up and headed back to Tulsa.

 

I would estimate the total price of last years trip to be around $400-$500. And a good chunk of that is Gas. The hotel totaled $180 for both nights. If you and Ricky are looking to have a nice little vacation away from Oklahoma this really isn't too pricey and it is a lot of fun. It would be great to have you two roll down with us. I'm pretty sure you would enjoy it.

 

Michelle and I looked at it as our little vacation for the year and getting away from everything here. I thought the hotel was pretty nice and we got to spend some awesome time together as well with awesome people and of course beautiful cars James is pretty much dead on with the price. Gas is the biggest chunk of it and honestly you are driving so much on this trip that you don't eat much lol. You guys should definitely come! You would have an awesome time together and with all of us. The crew we run with when we get down there are awesome people and very friendly. Definitely worth the trip And of course...don't forget the run through the 3 Sisters...intense

I totally understand that. I really hope you guys get to come James and I would like as many people from here to come as possible. Still trying to figure out a way to convince Robert to let Jimmy come Maybe we could sneak over and kidnapped him and the RX-7...and then tell Robert we have taken him and we will return him safely on Sunday...but Jimmy is being held against his will so dont get mad at him when we return him lol

Just booked my room for the Texas 8. Come on Jimmy, just book it, play sick that weekend and sneak out!!!

 

Having trouble finding the right words to describe my feelings on Jimmy not being able to come this year. Frustrated? No. Angry? Meh. Sad. Maybe, but as a dude I'd feel weird voicing that. Annoyed? Closest one yet.

Don't think I've ever seen his SO on any of the trips Jimmy has come to, yet Jimmy has to go to his stuff? Just kinda lame IMO. (Sorry if I start a quarrel)

 

Wanted to ask you about this in another thread so as to try and keep the chit chat on the official State Meet thread to a min.

The NEORX designation, is that something I can apply to all of OK peeps, or is there another group for the southern part (kinda like NTX vs SARX)?

 

Well, I think the NEORX is mainly for the guys in the Northeastern part of the state around Tulsa. We don't seem to hang with the guys out west very often and I don't even know if there is a club down south anywhere. But pretty much all the OK guys who come down to Texas events are from NEORX it seems.

 

James is right, NEORX is our club here in the north eastern part of Oklahoma. SO I would say that for the peeps here in Broken Arrow, Tulsa, bartlesville, etc...yeah we would be called NEORX. But as James said, people in the south and west, we dont get to hang with them. And yes, everyone coming to the Texas 8 will be from NEORX so far

 

Trust me, we all feel this way. It will suck not having him with us this year. However, we are hoping to keep it going where he gets permission to go!

 

I feel so loved.

Back to the piont. This months meeting will be pushed back a week to the 18th. Due to the fact that everyone is busy. See you guys next week. Hopefully I'll have the 7 back. Shooting for the 15th
