Talking Temp Relo to Dallas

Hi All,

I'm going to reside in Dallas/Bedford over the next 6 to 9 months and I thought I'd try to hook up with you guys.

I'm heading up Sunday and will be staying and working around Preston/Beltline Area for a few weeks, then staying with a friend in Bedford the first of March.

Do you have regular meets, etc?

Jackie
:p

Welcome Jackie! The FW crew (which would include the Bedford area) meeting Tuesday nights in south FW to play friendly pool. :D There's a DFW meeting the first Saturday of every month in Dallas and the Dallas crew sometimes meets on Thursday nights (check the "BJ" threads for details on this one).

Hope to see you at a meet soon!

That's great, but I know I won't make any Saturday meets unless I don't go back to Austin. For the most part, I'll be heading back to see my kitties. I have to leave them behind as I don't want to spend the money on an apt. Unless, I can find one around north Dallas/Addison and heading north of there for really, really, really cheap where my 8 would not get stolen, broken into, etc.

Any thoughts on housing would be greatly appreciated as I don't want to do the 30 mile trip to Dallas every day from Bedford and rack up the miles. I got my 8 on 3/31/2004 and it just turned 11k. So imagine the heartache I'm feeling of adding all those miles driving back and forth between Dallas and Austin.

I live in west FW so I wouldn't be much help for cheap housing near Dallas. Perhaps some of the Dallas guys could help out...

Hello--ya'll out there?

Hi, welcome to Dallas. I live in East Dallas, but have lived everywhere in Dallas, and I would be the one worriing about my 8 getting broken into. If you live N. of Addison you probably should not have to worry about crime at all for the most part. I thought that N. Dallas was a happy little utopia where no one hurt each other.

Addison apts. are probably going to be kinda expensive but nothing compared to apts. as you get closer to downtown i.e. uptownish area. I would think that your best bet would be to go N. on the tollroad and look at apts. in either Plano or maybe even Frisco if you want to go that far. The farther N. you go I think they will be less expensive but you have more of a drive. If you are going to do that I would get a toll tag. https://tagstore.ntta.org/tagstore/

Thanks for the info. That's what I've heard so far that where I'm considering is not too bad of an area.

I knew I was forgetting something. I most definately will be getting that toll tag.

Hope to see everyone at one of the upcoming events.

BTW, I drive a Red 8. If you see me, wave, I do wave back!
