This was completely uncalled for and if you do it gain I'm giving you some time away from the forum for 3 days as a cool off period. This is your ONLY warning. It's one thing to be sarcastic but name calling and profanity directed at us in a personally way isn't going to fly around here on my watch. -RG

To all Houston RX8club.com members -
First and foremost, let me say that I'm sorry for the outburst.
What's been said cannot be taken back, but I want everyone to know that I'm not proud of what I posted, and I wish there were a way to take it back.

I've lost a 6 friends in the past 9 years due to car accidents caused by careless driving. All 6 deaths were the result of a driver in a big truck/suv taking a chance or being careless and coliding with a mid-size car. As a result, I've started to suspect that anyone driving an SUV or truck is a careless, reckless, ******* that wouldn't think twice about running other vehicles off the road... unfortuneately, 80% of the vehicles in Houston are SUVs or trucks...

In the words of George Carlin: I don't have pet peeves - I have major psychotic ******* hatreds.

Yesterday, nearly 80% of our workers called in claiming that the weather conditions were too terrible for them to make it into work. I know for a fact that at LEAST 60%-70% were lying because I drove on nearly every major highway in the Houston area within the past 48 hours and have yet to see a single ice patch.
I let it get to me, automatically assumed that all of the people who called in were the same kind of people that killed my friends, and erupted on everyone who posted in this thread.

I'm not trying to justify my rant or excuse my actions - I know that what I said was completely uncalled for, and I apologize to everyone who was unfortuneate enough to read it before RG removed it.

...and please don't offer any condolences or ask questions - I'm not completely over the matter yet (clearly), and I'm likely to begin ranting again if it's brought up.

Driving has been interesting to say the least. Took me about an hour to chisel my car out of the ice. Those bridges/overpasses are crazy, crazy, crazy slick. I would've thoght 360 would be worse than mopac but it's in much better condition than mopac (at least last night). This morning had to dodge flying ice and falling ice.

OHHHHH - i thought RG wrote that under a different screen name, and was yelling at me. I didnt get a chance to read the rant, just RG's ammended post.

What was the rant about? Did it have to do with my post? Just for reference, i was just joking around. I actually gre up in Dallas, and have lots of friends and family in the winter wonderland over there.

Don't worry about it. It was an innocent rant like we all do from time to time but not written quite as innocently as was probably intended. It's all in the past now and everyone is in good standings here. No harm done.

First we had rain which flooded a lot of places, then came sleet which froze over and caused ice accumuation, and finally snow (very little bit but it still counts). All this happened within one week period.

I can't complain, I got to stay home for the majority of it. The only thing that sucks is I missed my trash pick up date. The trash bin is stuck behind my fence, which is still frozen shut. Now I've got piles of trash and diapers sitting in the garage. Hope it stays cold. Fermenting diapers are not pleasant.

I got to drive from Houston to CS on Tuesday afternoon, then CS to Dallas Wednesday afternoon. I had to chip the 1/4th inch of ice off the car Wed morning in order to get into the trunk.

I want accurate 3 week weather forecasts before I book another business trip.
