multiple 8 spottings today at lunch....

the first one i saw was a yellow 8 headed south on the I35 access road around Louis Henna.....thats the only other yellow one Ive seen besides my own....

and then there was a deep crimson red one headed towards McNeil on Round Rock dr......

thats the most 8s ive spotted within an hour of driving..... both were around noon..... is there something going on today that i dont know about? lol

and would anyone like to fess up to being one of these?

I see alot of 8's these days.

I saw 4 from BDC's house to the place we got race fuel to the dyno. This was up in GP/Arlington.

Here in Austin, I see them frequently.
Give them the wave.
They shoot the finger.
Word about me gets around fast...

I'm going to buy some magnets with Club info on it.
Drive up close in the Miata.
Stick on with out them seeing. I'm that good...

yellow wasn't me, I'm usually around oak knoll/mcneil area during the day or up at the many fine eating establishments on 620 (whataburger, etc..) for lunch. I avoid die35 like the plague :D

note: In the future I think I am going to start locking "spotted" type threads after about 10 days or at least merging them into one big "Spotted!" thread.

As I look at the section there seems to be an abundance of these threads that serve little or no purpose because a.) noone really ever "spots" someone on this forum or b.) most of you know each other (in your respective cities) from a mile away.

Thoughts or comments?

A year ago it would have been reasonable. I am noticing now that they are getting common enough that 5% of them (if that) are on this board. 1 "Spotted" thread should be about the same as the Random thread.

I suggest merging into one "spotted." I kinda feel bad about starting new "spotted," but I also felt bad about asking to be sticked... :o

sounds good to me, I never seem to meet or see anyone out there that's on here as well, that was my only intent in starting the thread (as i'm sure other people who start similar threads are trying to do) but since it never works may as well put them all in one or wipe 'em out or something, I surely don't want to waste resources or peoples time so if I've done that with this thread I sincerely apologize

no apologies necessary from anyone... I am just looking to keep the forum tidy and useable for everyone.

It isnt a problem right now... but given time little cracks develop into big gaping holes.

Call it my overactive - proactive approach to problem solving. :D

I hear ya on that one, i had 2 wrecks on die35 exactly 1 year apart in the exact same place (both vehicle wise as I was rear ended, and location wise as it was right inbetween stassney and wlm. cannon) the first time it was someone 2-3 cars back that plowed into someone pushing another dude's ride into mine, no insurance. The second time, it was a bunch of kids/thugs/something and they abandoned their car right there in rush hour traffic, just got out and started running towards (un) pleasant valley area. Slopac is not much better, but at least I haven't been plowed into a bunch of times on it

yup, they are adding to it in some places but it will always be too crowded as Austin has very limited number of east to west thoroughfares, we have toll toads in our future though (ugh)
