Sevenstock 8 is coming ! ! !
((Official Announcement))
After your emails, phone calls, forum postings, and face to face conversations, we would like to announce that last fall's SevenStock-7 was not the last event in the series! We proudly announce SevenStock-8.
Mark your calendars for October 8th, 2005. We've moved the event back to October to take advantage of the near perfect weather in Southern California and to allow the caravans crossing the Southwest to run in cooler weather.
The greatest Rotary event in the world started out as just a little BBQ get together by about 10 SoCal RX-7 Club members, and is now an event with over 5000 enthusiasts attending last year. The event celebrates of all cars rotary, and has become a yearly pilgrimage by rotorheads to Mazda R&D in Irvine, Ca. Mazda dusts off some of their historic Mazdaspeed race cars, and current racers like Abel Ibarra bring out their latest rotary monsters. If Santana and Jimi Hendrix was the music of Woodstock, 3 and 4 rotors fired up in the courtyard are the music of SevenStock. This is a do-not-miss event.
We have the date set for 10/8/05, and the location, Mazda R&D in Irvine, Ca., and we are finishing the schedule of events from Friday night through Sunday afternoon. Visit SevenStock.org for event information, and information on past events!

Less than 2 months to go... R/T airfare is looking pretty decent right now.. lots of fares for $250 bucks (from Texas) to choose from.
Banquet tickets are about half gone, so get yours today!

brillo and I are flying out together from Intercontinental early Friday morning. We are meeting up with some rotary "friends" of ours that we really owe alot to. Already have the room at the Hilton. Fortunately this year the rate is much cheaper than last. That makes up for the gas prices for the rental car. Not planning to go to the banquet. Didn't go last year and really didn't care.
Anyone want to see if it is possible to rent a car on Friday and return it on Monday with a rotary engine installed under the hood?! :D

Well, the only other time that Mazda took over the banquet was in 2002 for Sevenstock 5.
I don't have specific details, only what I have heard in rumours and hints.
