RX-Club of Houston September Meeting and Tailgate Party and Football Game

September is here and it's football season! Our next club event is the Tailgate Party and Football game at Pearland Stadium (aka The Rig).

The Houston Energy will be taking on the New Mexico Burn. You might be asking yourself who are the Houston Energy, well the Energy are Houston's own Women's Professional Football Team and they are coming home from a 2 game road trip to their first home game of the season. They won their last game 77 to 0 and devastated the other team offensively and defensively. The Energy are one of the favorites to win the championship so come out and support them in their pursuit of the ring.

If you didn't know, our clubs own Lori B. is a starter on the Offensive Line. Watch for #71 to put the hurt on the New Mexico Burn. Lori has been with the club for nearly 7 years and has always taken care of you guys, so let's get out there and support her for once! Several of you have already purchased tickets or season tickets and Lori appreciates your support very much.

Setup begins at 4 PM (if you want to help out)
Tailgate Party begins at 4:30 PM

For the game yes, but not for the tailgate party. We have to buy supplies beforehand and know how many are coming.

Tickets at the gate are $12

Once again, I cannot attend. The folks come back from their vacation Friday and I am their ride home from the airport.

 

The game is on Saturday, not Friday. :D So come on out.

Question: I don't have a paypal account, and today is the deadline to pay for the tailgate party, so am I screwed? I don't get off work until 7:15, and there's a meet tonight immediately after that, so I couldn't even create an email account and get a paypal account up until midnightish...

Is there going to be any form of after-the-game-gathering I could come to instead?

 

Honestly, don't wory with the paypal thing (BTW you don't need an account). Sadly, the club has let me down big time because noone has even bothered to express interest (except for the couple of you here).

Just come on out and see me to get a ticket, I will try to keep a couple on my person. Worst case scenario it's 12$ at the gate. I'll be wearing something in red and white with the #71 on it. Oh yeah, team colors are RED and WHITE so wear something in those colors if you can.

After the game, the players come over to the stands and mingle with fans and yes, they are supposed to have a post-game celebration...but I don't have the details yet.

 

Well, keep us updated on the event and who's going, and I'll do my best not to disappoint.



And I wouldn't let the "lack of interest" get to you. Asking people to spend 5 or more hours of their weekend with people they barely know is asking for quite a bit; especially with only a week's notice.

 

Actualy, many of our regular members in the club have known Lori for over 5-6 years and she has surely put in a considerable amount of time for the club (she organizes and cooks for most of our bigger meetings) as far as notice, it has been on the club calendar for over 3 months and announced at the last two meetings. No excuses there, sorry.

 

Due to massive lack of participation this months club meeting & tailgate party has been cancelled.

Please feel free to come out to the game and show your support for Lori and the Energy.
