Unhappy Rant about unsecured loads

So I hit, got hit by, a chunk of 2x4 this afternoon while driving down the freeway at 70mph. Somebody lost a 2x4 which shattered into chunks on impact with the road. An SUV two cars in front ran over a 2' chunk, flipping it into the air. It nailed the car in front of me, bounced off and hit my frontend. Luckily noone was hurt, just a scrape on the lexan of the passenger headlight cluster and the bumper was popped loose around the turn signal (popped right back into place once I got the nerve to lean into it).

Lifes a bitch and she swings a 2x4...

The SUV wasn't the culprit...he just hit road debris. I didn't see who dropped it.

"It was a miserable morning for commuters on the Maryland side of the Capital Beltway. Three major accidents tied up traffic for hours, but state police said the roadway was open again before the evening rush hour.

The first accident occurred shortly before 5 a.m. on the outer loop of the road just before the exit to Interstate 270 in Montgomery County when a tractor trailer laden with lumber overturned on top of a passenger vehicle. Police and fire officials said one person was killed and at least two others injured."

At least you didn't have a forest dropped on you.
