Wink Pulled Over AGAIN!!

Most of you know that I was pulled over a few weeks ago, BY A COP WHO OWNS AN RX8, for not having a front license plate. He wasn't too friendly but let me go with a warning.

Well it happened again today. I pull over and give him my license and insurance. He looks at my insurance and says, "This is expired... but I didn't say that," and hands it back to me. (Note to self to update insurance card.) He casually mentions that he pulled me over for no front license plate and asks if I have any warrants while he looks at my license. I tell him no and he goes to his car to do his thing. He comes back in less than a minute, hands me my license and says, "So what kind of gas mileage does this thing get?" My eyes lit up and I smiled. :D I told him what I averaged city vs. highway and he mentions that his wife wanted one. I proceed to tell him that it's a fun car to drive and that whole bit. He asked about the "get up and go" and I told him that it could be quicker, but that it drove pretty fast and I heard that people had gotten up to 120.

I don't know if you consider this a warning or not, since he barely mentioned why I was being pulled over, but thankfully I didn't get a ticket. :D

Why dont you just put the front plate on, and save yourself some trouble. Sooner or later you'll run into that cop who isn't impressed with your car or your pretty fae and he'll give you a nice fat ticket.

1) Because the front plate is ugly.
2) I have the MS replica front and there is no place to drill brackets, other than through the front rail of the engine frame.
3) Because no matter how many times they pull me over for this but really want something juicier, they will never find anything but a squeeky clean record.

dazy...if you ever get a ticket for no front plate all you have to do is show a picture of the car with the front plate on it. i got a ticket for that in Ft. Worth and when i pulled up to the courthouse to park, i simply rested the plate on the front and took a picture with my CAMERA PHONE!!! judge dismissed it right there on the spot. just told him that i didn't have brackets but went and got some to solve the problem! never even questioned the picture.

oh and i got my 8 up to around 148...but don't tell anyone!

i got pulled over for the same thing in Shanendoha (sp) (Near the Woodlands) last week. he followed me for about 10min b4 finally pulling me over. I have my plate in my trunk, i just told him i just dont like the way it looks and if he has a phillips head screwdriver ill put it back on. he didnt think it was necessary and gave me a warning. I dont get how we can get pulled over while other cars that dont come with a mount from the factory dont, Vettes for example

i was driving through the "city" of garden ridge (never speed through here) and a wannbe cop had pulled over a red vette and i saw him walk to the front of car and point at the area where the front plate is supposed to be. obviously i dont know whether he gave a ticket for it and im sure the women was doing at least 56 in the 55 zone. so moral of the story is cops (at least wannbes in small towns who give tickets for anything just to get more money) do notice when a car doesnt have a front plate

the Vette comes with a front plate mount, they give it to you loose when purchasing the car, it's up to the owner to install it

Now you are starting to see why I left mine on for so long. Just imagine if you got pulled over on the way home from Rack Daddy's or BJ's... It wouldn't be near as easy to get out of.
(Yeah, I'm one to be talking... no front plate and no '8

I watch what I drink when I go to Rack Daddy's and BJ, not only because I want to get home safe and in one piece, but also because I'd be SO SCREWED if I got pulled over for DWI. You guys know about my job... can you imagine the reprocussions? No thank you.

I got stopped on 288 south leaving Houston a week ago. Just left burger king and was munching some french fries.

As he walked up, I continued eating and he asks for the normal stuff and then goes back to the car to do his business.
Once he comes back, says he is giving me a warning for no front plate. I explain that Jay Marks Mazda has the plate mount on order (A lil white lie) and that my plate is in the trunk if he wants to see it. He declines.
I say my thanks and as he walks off he says,
"Is there any reason why you put your seatbelt on when I pulled you over?"
To which I reply "Yea, I didnt want you to ticket me."
He chuckles and walks back to his car, and I go on my merry way.

For some reason it seems like Texas is cracking down on no front plates......is the law going to change soon?

The last I heard on the bill that was going through legislature was that the portion of the bill that said the front license plate would no longer be a requirement was convienently dropped while the bill was in committee.

I hope you don't get into the "ejected from your vehicle and die" habit. That one's impossible to kick.

It doesn't take much to get pulled over in Shenandoah. That's how they get paid. Stagecoach (just northwest of Tomball) is even worse. I got a ticket ($175!!!) for going 5mph over the speed limit. 40 in a 35. What a crock. I'm not going to fight it. They only have 1 judge and only hold court 1 night a month when all the cops can attend. Good luck getting out of one there.

I try my best to keep my belt on, but it doesnt always happen, it hasnt become habit to me. I did have it on, but removed it on my stop at burger king, and forgot to put it back on when I got back on the highway.
