Problems with the RX-8...

I am possibly looking into buying the new 8 with the Grand Touring package and am wondering if there have been any reported problems as of yet? (Other than the incorrect hp ratings.)

What are your likes and dislikes of the car so far?

How much room is there really in the back seats? I have a 2yo baby.

What type of aftermarket support is there at the moment?

What types of performance mods would you recommend to do first? Keep in mind I am a road racing fan.

I currently have an Integra GSR with an ITR engine and it's been a great track car/daily driver but I feel as much as I hate to get rid if it, it's time to graduate to something more along the lines of my age bracket, if there is such a thing. I find I am 10-14 years older than a lot of the Integra owners/enthusiasts I know.

The other cars I am looking at are the G35 coupe and sedan. Not sure what else at the moment.

BTW, this is my first post!

Thanks in advance for your help.
Gary

Welcome to the forum! I love the car... The only dislike I have is not being able to replace the head unit.

A few to look @:

Lots of room in back. I'm 6'4" and my wife is 5'10" and if she's sitting behind me in the passenger seat, my knees don't touch the dash and her's don't touch the back seat.

IMO: Cat-back exhaust, different tires for autox.

Enjoy the forum...

Consumer Reports has the RX8 in this months issue. The only real compaint they had was the mileage. They also mentioned that the back seats are kind of narrow so all child seats may not fit. You may want to measure or try it out at the dealer.

Thanks for the welcome! I definitely have a lot to research and learn about the car before I buy it. These forums will be a great help!

I will check out the latest Consumer Reports. Thanks for letting me know. I'll have to bring my baby seat to see if it fits. With the center console going through the whole cabin it may be a tight fit! Crap! I hope it fits!

Thanks!
