Pity Party for Me

Hello all,

Just writing in to say that I'm having my engine replaced. I took it in for the recall work a year ago and it ran fine for a long time after that. But just at the end of this summer it was sporting all the symptoms that I read so much about... the REALLY rough idling (almost died once), unable to accelerate properly at some points, and hard to maintain speed on highways after short drives.

I took it into the dealership and they replaced the coils, but that didn't solve it and it got worse. So now they are going to put in a new engine.

Anyways, just checking in with everyone else here in the Austin area to see if there are any people on their second engine. Right now, I'm worried about the second one not lasting much longer than the first. But I'm thinking that's just me being paranoid.

Just for reference, I have a 2005, late build date. Only owner, 21K miles. Stock, 6speed MT. It's being services at Roger Beasely Mazda on Burnet, and it seems they are taking good care of it. Anyone else have any experience with them?

Driving a Mazda6 in the time being.... too slow, not enough grip.

I had my engine replaced about a year ago. I still have the occassional loping idle but they have not been able to figure it out. I have always ran 93 octane and changed my oil with non synthetic regularly.

Thanks for the responses guys. I just picked her up from the service department this morning, and she was running great for the 3 miles into work. Now, I've got to keep it under control, and break in the engine again. It will be a tough 1,000 - 1,500 miles for that.
