can you go into detail on what happened? Also does your car have the DSC/TCS system and was it on or off when this happened? were the roads wet/dry...was it raining? What tires do you have, how many miles on them?

his car is a base model so no he didn't have the DCS/TCS.

Yah Mr. Ed is right.. I have a Base model so No TCS. I wonder if that
would of helped?

basically I was on my cell (big mistake) while driving on the highway.
I was not paying 100% attention to the road and while I was supposed to
take 820 South, but instead took 820 North (the exits are yards apart).

Anyway, when I realized I took the wrong exit, I took the turn with my left hand on the
wheel (turning right) and the other hand on my cell. My left hand put too much presure
on the wheel and I realized my car started going too close to the grass. By the time I tried to pull to the left, the front tire had touched the wet grass. That's what cause my car to spinout. It wasn't an ugly spinout or anything... It's just that the moisture in the muddy grass made it difficult for me to stop. All this happened within 30-50 yards... (seems like a big distance, but it really isn't when you're on the highway)

I learned that you NEED to have BOTH hands on the wheel when turning and
not to be on the phone while driving. :o


Oh yeah I forgot... You're right Mr. Ed... that site is addicting! I just recently started adding stuff to mine. Now I can't STOP!

Yes I am ready to get rid of this Chevy Cobalt and back into my nice car!

supposedly I'll have it back this weekend. I'll still have to put a wing on it
and a lip kit. But those will probably be added later on

 

What wing are you wanting to get?

 

Was thinking of getting the one u did... not sure yet. I mean what are my other options
besides 1. Stock, 2. Xmen (yuck! sorry slim) 3. MS (even if its a knock off) ? Do you know
other wings that are affordable? ($350)?

If anybody does... please point me in the right direction thanks.

 

FYI.... Touring only comes with leather seats. :D

hey BLUE...you should get the INGS+1 wing....i love that wing. i think you can find it on ebay for a decent price. if you pick it up in time....Martin just might be able to get it painted for you since he'll have some paint ready from painting your car.

 

Well I've talked to Martin, and He told me he should have enough paint left over
for the wing, and a few other parts.

The INGS+1 wing ? Is that one of those really high ones? Cuz if it's what I think it is.... it will look pretty dumb on a stock looking car. I dunno yet. Post a picture or a link to a picture of one (preferably and RX8 with one) Thanks.

I don't think the mechanic (Martin) would NOT install it even if I tried! That's the
second ugliest wing I've ever seen! The #1 Ugliest wing I've ever seen was on
a RED 1989 Chrysler LeBaron. It had a home made wooden spoiler bigger than
an ironing board and painted WHITE! )

 

Maybe it's just the angle... I dunno if I like it or not. Looks like a diaper lol.

Talked to Martin a few days ago... he assures me that the car should be driveable this weekend! It won't be completely finished but at least i'll have it back. The other things that are going to be done besides adding a wing, is hopefully adding the sport package, or a combination of the sport package but with a burnout lip. Here's a picture Burnout lip:
