What's the consensus on his work? Less than favorable?
Best shop for brakes....
Hi guys
Haven't been hear for a while ... that's because my son commandeered the 8 and I don't get to drive it any more....
I know all of you do your own brakes ... but I am looking for a shop to do mine... One that won't leave them squealing like a Mack truck preferably ... like they did where I got them done before....
Any recommendations?
Thanks ....

My friend owns a shop called Pit Stop tire on Huebner Rd. and Babcock and his mechanic (jessie) is pretty good. Or we could do it on the cheap. I am guessing you will want to replace the rotors, pads, and flush the fluid? For OEM replacement stuff check out RockAuto Parts Catalog or if he wants slotted rotors and decent pads check out ROTORPROS - Performance Brakes - Brake Pads, Brake Rotors and Brake Kits.
We could handle the engine replacement as well. We have done quite a few so far. When it comes time just get with Houstonrx8er or drop any of us a line.

I am not sure yet. Its in the shop for other work and they mentioned I need brakes. I didn't notice any problem and I wonder if they said so just because of the squeal.
Anyway ... I am not going to let them do the brakes because they are the ones who couldn't get rid of the squeal the last time....
I will look at them myself when I get thing back hopefully today or tomorrow....

^---- Whats wrong with your current one? Sorry I have not kept up with your build much. If its just low compression and not major dammage it may be able to be rebuilt and that can be done localy.

To be honest with you right now I just know its low compression. I have not even had the motor taken out to have it looked at. With no local shops having rotary experience, the car has literally sat for a long while.
Well we could always do it for you but I know you wanted to do it on the cheap and that is not really realistic without tearing the engine down and seeing what is up.

A few of us have acquired our own extra core for just this reason. I think its a good idea when you take things to a certain level to have a extra engine or at least a core on hand.
We can pull and crack open the engine, then spec it out and see whats what. At least it will give you some direction to go.
