Yeah it was a steal considering the recent work that has been done on it and the maintenance history. Most of these are like $3,000.00 and have been modded and abused.
It's the in between model, it has the DOHC, non VTEC H23A. A lot of people don't know this but the 96' VTEC (H22A) Prelude was the fastest production Honda (short of the NSX of course) in America for a long time, it ran like a 14.3 1/4 mile bone stock and was actually faster than the Acura Integra Type R.
But I don't want him to get the mod bug yet
But I was already thinking of a H22A VTEC engine and LSD tranny swap
I just checked around and I can get him a Hot air intake, 4-2-1 header, and a complete subtle stock looking cat back systems for under $400.00
I can't believe these are still around. These could be rebuilt to some nice specs and refinished in whatever color you want for damn cheap. I bet he would take $1,000.00 for them.

Nice car 9k! My dad always told me he was going to buy me a new mustang but that never happened hahaha so i bought it myself but 91 in yr 2000.i always lied and said it was 93 lmao
No they don't anymore but there were some pretty impressive JDM only models. There was rumored to be a new model coming out that is based on the S2000 RWD chassis but I have not heard anything in a while. Honestly if Honda comes out with a RWD Prelude or SH AWD Prelude I would have to give it a good look.
A RWD Prelude based on the S2000 chassis with the RDX's Turbocharged engine (243HP and 260ft/lb torx) would be pretty impressive. Especially since the engine has forged internals so upping the boost would be no issue at all.

Agreed but to expensive... I dont need another project car.
Speaking of that, replacing the vacuum acuators seemed to have fixed the VDI and SSV low voltage code issues but I still have teh damn APV code. I checked the position of the gear, reset it to 1 o'clock, it turns smoothly, and I can hear the motor cycle when you turn the key.
Maybe I should try another motor just to see what happens?
