Oh, well is it low on fluid? What fluid did you use? Don't use the fancy crap, just good old Mazda stuff.

I have read too many grinding noise stories from people trying boutique tranny fluids. All I have ever used is Mazda fluid and my tranny is doing fine at 127,xxx miles (knock on wood). I typically change it every 20k or so but mine has been changed twice in the last 5,000 miles and I think my grinding issue was from running slightly low do to the leaky NPS.

I just went by a place called Norbilt on Ekhert to inquire about getting a fitting welded on my charge pipe. The place was messy as hell but the owner was knowledgable and his prices are reasonable so if you need any fab work done he may be a good choice. He specializes in turbos and has a dyno

Also grungepup, it's near that shop we looked at where the guy wanted a ton in rent. It is still empty BTW.

They got a decent website for being messy and small!

I wonder if they will hone my compressor housing there?

The place on Fred seemed to be doing well the last time I looked but I haven't been by in a couple of weeks.

Yeah the shop is nothing like the website but it is a fab shop after all. I am going in a bit to drop off my other charge pipe, I will ask about the turbo but IIRC they had a majestic Turbo banner in the shop so they probably use them. We could always roll up to Waco and check out majestic if you want, that way you could explain in person what you want. That is my old stomping ground. I think next time I will do that so I can explain in person exactly how I expect the end result to be and I won't have to mess with shipping.

He sorta stopped doing it I think. He works on an oil rig now. He isn't show quality but I can get it done for decently cheap.

so trans fluid it topped off (I maybe added an 1/8qt), still grinding 3rd and 2nd-5th are hard to shift. I guess the next step would be to do a fluid replacemnet...again.

Or is it safe to say the thing is shot...I love my car...I love my car....I L.O.V.E my car

I dunno man, I would try Mazda fluid before I decided on getting a new tranny. But likely it's shot.

I will pick some up, $50 (or whatever it costs) is a hell of a lot better than the alternative
