Not sure, last post on FB was that he was still fighting Mazda. I think they said his problem was due to some kind of abuse, but am fuzzy on the details.

I havent really included much details because they are incredibly frustrating... Basically my "Aftermarket" AEM Cold air intake, which is the exact same unit as Mazdaspeeds CAI (And I mean EXACTLY), soaked up water and caused "Hydrolock"

None of these things happened. The tech first ruled it abuse because I have NO apex seals on Rotor #1 which gave me ZERO compression on all sides. I asked to get all of that on paper and the tech decided to change his mind to "Hydrolock" because I have "Water Stains" in the recessed portion of the intake.

All of this is completely bullshit and there is HORRIBLE evidence against me. I do not want to share my evidence as I know Mazda watches these forums and if they can save $4000 they will.

I willl try to keep yall updated

Edit: I forgot to add Mazda is running me in circles not helping at all basically, and im starting to get pissed... Im going up to Town North Mazda in a few minutes to talk with my service manager and im going to ask for his manager, and if he doesnt help me im going to need his manager.

I WILL NOT GIVE UP. Mazda Wrongly denied me a new engine and I will get a new engine because I have NOT... NEVER... ran my car through water and I do NOT abuse my car.

Sounds like BS. It's one thing if they diagnose it and stick to their guns based on evidence but it's another to just change it. Grungepup had an issue with his MS CAI and the service rep tried to tell him it voided the warranty. So then he asked how a Mazda OEM part voided the warranty and the idiot was clueless. Is it even possible to hydro lock a rotary? Know any lawyers?

I could be wrong but did not AEM make the MS CAI for Mazda? And sure it might have collected a small amount of moisture at the bottom bend, but unless you went thru 3 foot deep water... Geesh..

second I would be taking that "Tech" **** outside for a little discussion of my own...

Mazda approved me today, I never made it to Mazda. I will be writing the whole story soon. This whole thing was a big hassle.

I gotta give a big shout out though to my amazing service advisor Michael Rhea at Town North Mazda in Richardson. The reason why I got this engine was because he fought for me. I can't express my gratitude to him.

Also I need to thank Charles Hill from BHR as I first called him for help with the situation and if he could spread any light on the problem. He was there for me the whole time and he has earned a lifetime customer.

I will go into much more detail as I write my epic story in next couple of weeks

Glad to hear you got it sorted. It sucks that they are such a PIA about it now. I got my first engine years ago at only 22,000 miles and they did not ask for records, they did not force me to replace coils at my cost first, they did not hesitate to give me a rental, etc. Hell I doubt they ever did a compression test because they could not give me the results.

That engine lasted 74,000 and when I went in they immediately started to try and bullshit me about oil receipts, having the coils replaced (when I had just done them 6 months earlier), the rental, etc. I had to spell it all out for them and they ended up taking care of everything but I feel for the less knowledgeable people who probably get taken advantage of.

Apparently not. But if it helps make the story epic, Scarlet did kinda die. Which led to...Okay, I dunno where I was going with that. I got nothing.

What's with the mummy chase icon? hahahahahaha....random....

I just want to say thanks for you guys being you. Since there are so few 8's here that aren't wasted on stupid kids or the many women having a midlife crisis, I live vicariously through you, your many meets, and the online rants. You have been nothing but a pleasure to be meet and hang with. I really wish I could move closer.

You'd have more to be thankful for if Kid wasn't too busy ruining his car instead of providing us with tasty stories to consume.

I meant more as an entirety than just brandon's engine. But that works too.

I know, that would just be part of the greater good known as NTX Rotary
