^^^ The Cobb AP is worth it but I recommend getting all of the other mods you want first... Right now the wait time for each tune is like 1-2 months, Jeff has been swamped so... but assuming you can get it tuned by someone else who knows what they are doing it is VERY helpful. Not so much HP wise but it will give you some hp and help you out with reliability etc.
In the end go read about it, make the decision for yourself...

I have the COBB, and the benefits are the ability to increase the OMP (amount of oil injected) rate, lower the temperature point that the coolant fans turn on, and make just about every change needed tuning wise. But if later on you add more modifications you may need another tune from MM.
But it is a tool, if you do not use MM to create your tune and you are not willing or able to learn to tune yourself then it is nothing but an expensive data-logger and OBD reader. And for $600.00 it does not come with a mount and the screen is very small.
Depending on the details of your car, the reliability benefits of it may or may not be important to you. If you are looking for huge power gains from it then you will probably be disappointed. The most you could see from the Cobb itself is probably around 15HP, give or take a few.
We'll see, I'll be on the Dyno soon and see if I make the power that I expecting.

I've seen videos of the how to with those deals. and if you order the preset files and such. He said it's just plug and play.. Click here, then it downloads, then start car and unplug.. or some combination of that. But would it be a viable thing to buy say if you plan on doing more to your 8 then just dd? Like I know for a fact when I get mine it's going to be DD but also street coursed quite a bit. Would this be a good tool to get if I so chose to follow what I stated?

Can you tune an Auto? And I'm not asking in the sense of HP or oil etc, but I'm curious if the computer can be fine tuned on the transmission side. Aka can you turn features off, or change shift points etc? (For example I'd love it if I could turn off the feature where the car down shifts at high speed when you give even a slight amount of gas)

Sounds fun! I'll have to check it out. Although, it probably won't happen til late next week sometime. Moving this weekend and traveling next week. Gotta love it! But I'll have a 25Mbps symmetrical internet connection...so I'll be doing plenty of gaming in the near future!

This brings up an interesting question I have.

Um no, that is what has me so pissed. In manual mode on the highway in 6 gear it will down shift for you if it decides you aren't doing it fast enough. And then when you are trying to figure out why the RPM's are so damn high you realize that you are in 4th gear doing 70 and the damn car didn't upshift when you didn't need the power!
