I am surprised that no one has said anything about this.

New Plate to choose and we will get 7 characters next year too!

It is around a 100 a year... for your type of plate at the end of the year.

ahh.. i just noticed you have that unpainted edge on the right side it looks like. They need to fix that machince or something, that drove me nuts for the longest time.

oh it isn't that they didn't tell you, combine the 40 for the personal plate, plus your registration. just be glad you didn't get the custom personalized plate. that would be like another 30-40.

You already get 7 letters on the plates in Texas.
We had Unknown on our Solstice

His plates will be around 78 bucks a year for what he has. That is how ours was and that is what we paid. Well worth it to me. its only once a year and like they said the first year u dont even have to repay Reg!

for the longest time 7 letters wasn't allowed here, if they do allow it then it's only been the last few years if that. I have a 7 letter plate (just rad) from over 15 years ago, used to get pulled over constantly because it was not in the dps/apd computers, it was a b-day gift for me and my mom worked for the i.r.s at the time so God only knows what she pulled to get me that plate, I still have it too.

yea still have to have the front one on the car. I have gotten away with it off all my newer cars. Seems the police dont really mess with nice cars without the plates. Only here it on the lower valued vehicles.

I don't have the front one on my car either - makes it look ugly IMO. I still keep it inside just incase i ever get pulled over for it.... put it on the dash real quick or something :p

Heh...every time I just say the bracket fell off...

No plates FTW!!

^^^yep. I keep mine down between the center console and the passenger seat. Never been asked yet, but if i do the old "the bracket broke off and i am replacing this weekend" should do the trick.....unless of course you call out the officer on the original reason for the stop, then proceed to give him a condescending attitude and your version of how there is no way he could have clocked you from 3 cars back being directly behind you....and then in retalliation he proceeds to write you 4 citations on top of the one he originally pulled you over for.....yeah, the old "bracket broke" story ALONE should work.
