Cool. Just be sure you have at least a full quart of 5W20 on hand.
If you're anything like me, you already do. I always keep a qt under the hood w/my funnel and one in the trunk strapped to my tire repair kit. It will burn oil quick on a dyno!

Why is that? I usually keep more than that in the trunk for when I check the oil every fill-up.

I'm interested in meeting up. As long as it not too late on Sunday because I have to drive back up to Baton Rouge. It would be awesome to meet everyone.

Monique, I went to the meeting last year and Ted kept talking about you. He said you're a great driver and I should check you out sometime. I'll try to be there in March if youre racing. Maybe I'll have the guts to try it out.

Pleasure meeting you too. Even though you kicked me away.... We had alot to say. You can show all of us at the meet, unless I catch you before. Thx. It only "looks" good, unlike yours where you have both looks and performance. Can't wait to meet everyonce else.

PS. I saw a blue 8 on Jefferson highway today. I honked but I don't think he heard. Anyone from here?

Dammit you've figured me out... NOT! Heehe. Well I'll get $1.00 Bud Lights because it's Happy Hour. But the only thing my sis does is cost me more bc I tip her well!

BTW Guys...
I decided I can't wait 'til next week for RB to mod my pcm with their street flash! Alex couldn't pull it for me today. Soooo... I called Keith @ Ducote Mazda and asked if they could oblige. An hour later Daniel had pulled it and I was cruising back to work in a rented Mustang with my car's brain on the passenger seat. Got back to the office handed it off to Kevin who packed it up nice & safely and it's off to Racing Beat as we speak & they'll get it manana mornin'! My guys at the dealership will receive it from RB on Friday AM and I'll be good to go for the weekend. YAAAY!

FYI: The difference between the street flash & the race flash is whether or not you have a cat.

A mustang. I just elaborated above when I edted it to add the diff between "street" and "race" flash. Someone thought it meant you had to use race fuel with the race flash. But that isn't the case per Jim @ Racing Beat. Call me if you decide to drop by the daq shop though. Since I took a looong lunch to handle my car on the westbank, I may not be leaving here right at 4:30. It'll depend on how much I get done. I should prob get off this forum to start with huh? lol.

I AAAAAAAAAAM still here. lol. I'm getting the street flash. I DO still have my cat. And that's cool... rain check. Good luck on your exam! Drive safe in the rain and thanks for the warning. I don't think the Mustang, I KNOW the Mustang won't handle like my 8. Ducote's also gonna wash my car Friday before I get it back =)

I'm thinking about getting a midpipe & one of the superchargers. What are your mod plans? Oh, when is the next autocroos at Zephyr stadium? I've been so busy with work, trying to find a new house and driving back and forth b/w NO and BR that i haven't raced in a looong time. I miss it.
OMG! Hey Dominic! I JUST noticed this as I was looking back through some older posts. How are you? Yeah that was fun running with you on I-10. I debated on taking my exit or continuing with you. Haha. It was tough to turn off. I even looked for you on here some time after that to say "what's up". I'm glad I ran across this. I've got some KDW's too, on one of my sets of stock wheels. How do you like the Greddy exhaust? It was tough for me to decide between that and the RB. I went with the RB bc of the size of the tips. There's supp to be a bolt-on supercharger avail for the 8's soon. I've done lots more to my 8. Check out my vBGarage on here. There's an autox 3/18 @ the Belle Chasse NAS then one at CENLA on 3/25. It's at their new site (EVO) in Zachary. They haven't used watchamacallit in Gonzales in a loooong time. That's where we autox-ed at rem? That was when we both first started. Man I haven't raced since before Katrina! I miss it, too! Did you find a house in NOLA?

LOL........(Teds gonna kill me)..I'm still riding on a stock suspension.I just need to lower the front. Everytime I put money aside for it, bad luck strikes and the money gets spent. Now I need a break job. But since I'm gonna change the pads, I wanted to get crossdrilled rotors. Nothing expensive, because i'm really hard on breaks. So I started to shop around and guess what. My rental property in Kenner has a cracked sewer pipe under the slab! It cost me $185 to clean the clog and I'm waiting to hear back from a few people on repairs. It's gonna cost me $275 to run a camera through the pipe to find the crack. Then they have to tunnel under the slab to replace the pipe. Tunneling under a house is $110 to $145 per foot. Then they charge per foot on the pipe and hardware. There goes 5k.. Happy hour on the westbank sounds good to me! lol Who am I kidding!!At this rate, I won't be able to afford $1 beers!

Man, you guys keep getting me in the mood for mods. I don't want to put any aftermarket performance parts on because Mazda might claim that I abuse the car. I did add the OEM spoiler with the help of a friend (his help consisted of watching).

So I guess for my next mod, I will paint the inner brake rotors, because they are rusting, and the calipers yellow. Because it looks nice.

Then one day I can get some Koni Yellow Dampeners.

Well I'm good w/the mods bc Mazda can't say anything since my car is out of warranty. It's cool though, even before. Ducote service and their rep know me and my car well. They know I take good care of it, etc. But I know what you mean.

I'd like to paint my inner rotors, too. I have the powerslot slotted rotors but I'd still like them painted if possible; calipers, too. Maybe we can have a "paint" party. I'll bring the lightweight aluminum jack and cordless impact! I found a cool yellow mazdaspeed front caliper kit here. I emailed the seller some questions but I haven't received a reply yet.

casanova-
I'll buy you a beer! lol.
Good luck w/your repairs!

EDIT: I fixed the link!

I'll wait until mine goes out of warranty, unless I am completely certain Ducote won't have a problem with the flash and maybe some other mods.

But a painting party sounds like a good idea. I can bring a jack and a couple of jack stands. I can probably pick up some more jacks. And I know there is a paint specifically made for this. My original plan was to wait until I needed new brakes to do this, since I was just going to get new rotors anyways.

Monique: do you find th powerslot slotted rotors make that much of a difference?

Yeah... I made sure not to do anything that would affect my warranty. Besides brakes & suspension mods the only thing I did while I was under warranty was replace my air filter with a K & N drop in. Once you establish a relationship with the dealership, you can always ask for their advice on any mods you consider. If you buy any Mazda performance parts and a Mazda dealership installs them, you should be good with warranty.

As far as the powerslots, yes, I noticed an improvement. However, I needed to replace my "blue" (heehe) rotors and brake pads anyway so it's not like I had good stock ones one day and a different brand/type the next to make a fair comparison. The oem brakes on our 8's are good brakes! But I believe the design and material of these powerslots will last longer and perform better, esp at high temps/high speed braking. Which is why I went with these. I haven't been on a track with these yet. I think braking for slaloms, turns and pivots would be a good test!
