Smile Need a place to live for 3 months

I just landed an internship in Houston at the Texas A&M Institute of Bioscience and Technology. I need a place to stay around that area, which is almost next door to Rice.

I will be there for about three months starting around May 14. so if there are any fellow members here that can help point me in the right direction about good places to stay around there at reasonable prices, i would greatly appreciated.

Also, I need a place that is furnished (hopefully) because it would be a massive PIA to carry my furniture 900+ miles for just 3 months.

Thanks a lot!

What side of town do you want to live on?

whichever is closest to the TAMU IBT (near Rice University). maybe the east side of the city? not totally sure where it is exactly on a map. It is on West Holcombe Blvd.

Is there a Craig's List for that area? Check that or the local newspaper for available sublets.

Try roomates.com. My coworker has rented a room to someone like you several times through that route.

alright thanks! i will look into that. and i found out it is in the southwest part of town fairly close to the center of the city. (at least according to the map on the GPS)

my question is since it will only be a three month stay, is it going to make it harder to find a place?

Again thanks!

I got your PM but unfortunately I don't really know of anyplace that can help you according to what you were looking for. Real Estate is about to be my side job anyways. I just landed a new engineering job with Ellis Williams Engineering doing CAD design work. I'm excited yet intimidated at the same time. I am still keeping the real estate license and will still do it on the side but I'm not going to have the time that I used to that I can devote to it. I'll be limited to weekends.

hey thanks RG. i will continue looking and it seems as though i do have a few contacts in the area to be able to possibly help me out. i am more than willing to board with a family, live with someone i have never met before, or whatever, i just need a place. but i am pretty confident i can find a place. and while i am down there i definately would love to meet up with some of the area members. again, thanks for the help guys, it really is much appreciated.

Each side has its bad areas. Not to scare you but I hear on the news most of the violence comes from sw part of town. I live on the eastside but just started working in bellaire(SW of houston) so I haven't got used to the area that good. Hell, I don't even know where your internship job is.Theres a lot of hotels around the galleria area but i'm not sure how much the price varies.
