2007 BASE REGULATIONS
The Navy graciously lets Delta Region autocross at their base, provided we follow their rules. Base security requires Delta to sumbit a list of all drivers and spectators to enter the base. No one, and we do mean NO ONE, will be allowed to enter the base unless pre-registered. We can not "talk to the rear gate" to get anyone in.
We will be accepting online pre-registration ONLY (pre-register on DLB Racing's website: http://www.dlbracing.com). Drivers who pre-register are added to the base access list.
Passengers, spectators and any other persons must e-mail their information to delta_guest@charter.net. Please include the guest's full name (Last, First MI) and their driver's license number; if the person is a minor, please note that. If you think you might make it, go ahead and register to be on the list, just in case.
All persons MUST show a valid, state-issued ID to gain base access.
Pre-registration and the guest list will close the Wednesday before the event. This allows us to notify the base of who will be attending. Deadline: Wednesday, May 2nd.
All base access will be through the rear gate. Exception: those hauling a car on/in a trailer will be required to go through the front gate and have their car inspected. This does not apply for tire trailers.
Rear gate entrance hours will be from 6:00am until 6:00pm.
There may be other restrictions, so check online for the latest information.
Base Etiquette:
- Don't wander around the Base. We're allowed passage too and from the autocross site. The speed limit at the autocross site is 5mph (except on the track, of course).
- Vehicles may be subject to search by Soldiers With Guns. Don't argue...Sometimes they just want to check out your car.
- No firearms are permitted on Base. No, we won't bail you out either, so don't bring anything remotely suspicious.

i go onto the base for church and there are some other rules that apply while on the base that have not been mentioned..you are also not allowed to talk on the phone while driving and you are not allowed to listen to music while driving because they will stop you, so that was just a lil fyi

Yea no loud music. If they can hear you it is too loud.
I will be there teaching, Been doing this for 3 years and have over 450 Autcross runs behind me. You are promised to have so much seat time that by the end of the day you will be sore tired and have a permanent smile on your face.
Monique are you coming to help out?

Umm... last I spoke w/Allen was via email. He & his family ended up staying in Texas after Katrina. They lost pretty much everything as they lived in Chalmette, LA. PSi is no longer up.

Just to anyone considering - did the novice school in the ATL last week. It was a blast. Got some time on a skidpad and maybe 12 runs. Free lunch. Lots of great people.
Borrow a helmet before. Hot - swapping one in the heat is no fun.

You can just go to Boyce Honda in Metairie. Ask for an open face, DOT, Snell rated (whatever the highest, if they ask). If you tell them it's for autox they should know. I started with a "cool looking" motorcycle helmet but the open faced works better. You're peripheral vision is less restricted and you can turn your head more freely. Esp in a RX8!

Open face is WAY better for Autocross.
I bought a Bell Pro Mag5 sorta spendy @ 350 bucks but I attend 20 autocrosses a year and maybe 2 lapping days at NPR. Light, SA2005 rated
MUST BE SNELL rated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DOT will not cut it.
Motorcycle helmets are ok for Autcross. Most are heavy and designed to absorb multiple bangs on pavement as your body bounces to a stop. SA is fire rated and constructed to withstand impacts that might happen in a car.

Probably the best deal out there. free shipping and a nice padded helmet bag to keep from messing up the outside. I like the Pyrotech also. My son has one and it is serving him well.

Hey Joe- Will you be in the RX8 or 914? I think you boys should trailer the 914 and take me for a ride! Wooo baby... and maybe I can take it on some fun runs (?)...
#19
Trying to talk the wife into coming out for the school. so the RX-8 will be the choice.
Other wise it will be the Monster Civic on a trailer for the event on Sunday.
914 is getting prepped for Houston NT. And you can have a ride anytime.

I am not sure if you can handle riding with me in that car lol...
I installed bigger cams in the civic last night. Should pick up a bit more power and tq.. and I can technically outrev the 8 lol... but dont really need to hehe... so I will keep it at 8600-8800 lol... Hopefully i can get some tuning done on it so we can bring it to the school...
You can take it for a spin if you like...

We can work in 2 drivers.
And you know how I feel about PAX.
I can promise you that you will more seat time going fast than you will get anywhere else for the money. RX-8 is SOOO easy to learn how to shift. 914 is much tougher and that crazy Civic is just down right brutal to shift.

Son what is your Alibi?
iTrader: (1)
My clutch/pp is on its way out so the peddal requires a lot of foot force to push down, and keep down, don't expect her to be launching or breaking the tires loose on the 1-2 but she can get the car moving and shift it that should be enough for her to be able to concentrate on the important stuff.
I would like to drive the 914 around once just to get a feel for her, if your willing.
