Hey guys, any of you know of a good muffler/exhaust shop in the area? I'm bringing my midpipe down with me and want to have resonator welded in while I'm home. Any help would be great.

^How long of a drive is it for you? I got a 21 hr drive to get there...haha.

 

Its only 12 for me, but i did drive to daytona beach fl. two months ago and that was 21 hour drive and 2 months b4 that i took a road trip to california which was a 26 hour drive straight through!

Well Im in killeen but not w/ my rx8... was driving down i 35 south w and my car started dieing and bogging and died on me on the side of the road. so i had to get it towed to classic mazda in some town that starts w/ a d. and im pretty sure my apex seal went b/c the other day i was sprayin nitrous andhad a backfire, i checked everything and it ran fine and what not. must have weakend the seal and it finally gave out on the way here. so now im screwed b/c i have my nitrous and everything on there so the dealer most likely isnt going to warrenty anything. so i have a 2009 mercury marquise!! hopefully its not a seal and its something else but i almost bet its the apex seal! i still try to make it to the meet if im here that long since so far its costed me 350 dollars just for a rental and im going to have to pay outa pocket to get the car fixed!

Damn, that sucks. I hope everything works out for you.

 

I know this isn't the place but, W.N you do realize there is more than 1 apex seal in your motor, right? There are six...also, you said the engine slowly died...you may have just a simple coil issue or maybe a fuel issue. If you lost an apex seal believe me you would know. The motor would have sounded like lawnmower on its last leg.

well i do know theres more then one seal i was just meaning i think i blew a seal. maybe i didnt though b/c the strange thing is the idle was fine and when i say slowly i mean like if i tried to accelerate the car would bog down so in other words i pretty much just coasted to a stop then it died, and would not start back up. then about 30 min later when the tow guy got there it started up and ran fine again but i did notice a little fluid on the ground. all i know when i started in iowa i sprayed the nitrous had a back fire b/c of too much pressure in the bottle car seemed to be ok the **** out in fort worth. now im pimpin in a 09 mercury marquise! lol dealer said they are gonna get to it monday so hopefully its not a seal and it can get fixed what ever it is!!

 

I get ya now...still doesn't sound like a blown engine to me. Hope you hear news on it next week.

We can install it right there, takes about 20 mins. I always carry tools with me.
