Just what the title says, anyone on here from this area?

 

My parents live in Eddy and my mom works at the Temple VA so I am up that way often. Let me know if you guys have a meet on a weekend.

Oh man I live in Killeen, but don't have the 8 anymore if you guys have a meet can I come? I miss my 8.

 

I'm from Cove, lived there until I joined the AF. I haven't been back in a while...I will be heading home for a couple weeks in Jan...maybe we can get a group together and go for a drive or something?

Sounds like a plan...I plan on being in town around 18th. It would be cool to get a few more people out. Did they every build that Hooters they were talking about in Killeen? We could always have a gathering there! I'm sure the girls there are mostly dependants and army wives...haha!

Wow, if you havn't been here since before the Hooters was built, you probably won't even recognize Killeen or Harker Heights at all now. A lot has changed.

As for the Austin crew, the TexasRxs are having their monthly meet on the 7th of Jan and an overnight tour on the 24 and 25. Nothing else on their calander as of yet. their site is here

 

HAHA, haven't been back there since '05. My parents still live in Cove, they try and keep me up to date. I guess the big thing there now is the Cracker Barrel in Harker Heights. I really can't wait to get back! What part of town do you live in Gecko? I'm from S 23rd near the high school.

 

They just opened that Cracker Barrel along with a Cheddars and a Chipotle. They even moved the Target and Old Navy from Killeen into the same shopping center in Heights. It's going crazy around here lately, especially in Heights.

I've been here since '98 and have lived in Killeen, Harker Heights and mostly Cove. My first house in Cove was on S 25th st. I live about half a mile in form the Walmart now. Did you go to school here? If so when did you graduate? I ask cuz my wife grew up here.

 

I'm in killeen, there is way too many 8's on post. I drive a titaniun gray 04, full body kit, kansas plates. If you 8 is the black one on the pic, I seen it driving around.

 

Yeah Gecko, that's cool...I grew up in Cove and graduated in '97. I moved away in '98 for the AF and am currently stationed in NC.

Can't wait to get back, it's been too long. Hopefully we can get this meet together...

Jan 18 sounds good...it is a Sunday so, let's try for an early afternoon meet. I will be in town until the 29th, but I'm making a trip down to south TX around the 23rd or so...I hope more will show other than myself and Dan.

dude! we have a November thread in this very forum and a HUGE drive on the
13th of December lead by me! Larry (topdownbackroads) must have been slackin' on the club site, he always has that stuff posted I'd love to see more people from out of town show up, the hill country roads are frickin' sweet, and the Johnson city lights are the bomb diggity as far as Christmas lights go. I was actually referring to the club's January calendar only. Now that you point it out though, the drive in December sounds pretty sweet.

 

Yeah man, you guys don't wait up for me. I'm just glad I'll be able to hang a round a few rotorheads when come to visit since, I will be missing my clubs first meet of the year while I'm home on leave.

the Christmas run is fun man, the roads are a hoot and there's cool places to stop along the way
