Congrats! Car looks good...

Is that arrow on the back window something from the dealership or is it a decal you put on?

I plan on getting a new battery coils plugs and wires. Also NP Mazda recommended a brake system and transmission flush.

I bought this 2004 past the warranty mileage against the advice of a few of the experts around here ... But the engine has only 30K on it and compression checked good. So I just want to do everything I can to prolong the life of this engine.

When I graduated from college in 1981, the RX7 was the car I wanted but I couldn't afford it then. Now after 20 years of driving a Minivan -- I have an 8. (Don't feel too bad for me though because I also have an 1998 M3). But the Minivan is traded in ... it is HISTORY!

Here is the link to the pictures from the Dealer's site where I bought the car:

http://www.trucksintexas.com/vehicle...io-Texas-78217

There was another almost identical car even cleaner at another dealer with only 49K on the car... and a MT... for $2800 more. Probably a better deal in the long run but I needed to keep the buying price as low as possible.

Thats true....

I have not seen how warranties are worth the price though. I haven't had warranties on cars since the last time I bought a new car in 1988. I always just paid for repairs as they come.

I tried to look into warranty on this car. What I saw was $3000-$3600 for a 3 year warranty. Adding about 40% to the price I am paying for this car. Or about $100/mo of coverage.

That $100 plus the loan payments I will be making ... add up to a good portion of what it would cost per month to lease or buy a brand new 8 with a Mazda warranty. So I decided I would either roll the dice and get this one or a new one.

I am rolling ... 8 the Hard Way!

That's true. I understand the risks. I am saving up for a new engine just in case.

I just picked up the car. The dealer offered a 3 yr up to 142k miles warranty for $1950. This seems good price compared to the online warranty company offers I checked. I am probably going to get this. The other offers were just way too high and I figured I rather take my chances and self insure.

Just make sure you read the fine print(on the extended), and any question you may have where you suspect your not getting the right answer, have them put it in writing.

Looks very clean though! Nice pick-up and hope you have good luck with it.
