Plenty of STU cars to compare yourself with. If anyone wants to catch a real ride, find the guy in the green wrx. Just watch out for your leg.

Oh yeah, I think riding in Elises is now off limits, I ruined that for everyone!

Check to see if your name is on the list.

http://www.dlbracing.com/Clubs/drive...x?EventID=3233

If it isn't print out the paypal receipt and bring it to the event. If anyone else is interested you can REGISTER AT THE EVENT. BRING CASH.

Since I helped set up the course it looks quite fast with some evil decreasing radius turns. Also the track is quite long this time around.

Thumbs up

I'm HOOKED on AUTOCROSS! Great people out there and very thrilling experience. I'm planning to go to the BMW CCA Autocross on June 8th - do you have to be a BMW CCA member? I registered online for the autocross, but I don't want any surprises when I get there without a membership.

We had a great turn out this time!

So, who's going to one of the other events next weekend?

One is the axware event thats a good drive, but its at a tire test facility with a brand new track. The other is on the north side of Houston on concrete. Both will be completely different from Gulf Greyhound Park.

I wonder if I should start a new thread for this?

EDIT: You don't need a SCCA membership for the Houston BMW event. $25 for 6+ runs ain't so bad is it?

Did I miss something? I registered this morning and it made me pay $35...how did you get $25? Must be something against rookies...

It might be $35. I haven't registered yet. I'll register now.

Edit: It is $35. But when I go to pay its $25. Maybe its b/c I'm a SCCA member?

Double Edit: I also used paypal.

Another question...is BMW CCA different from Houston SCCA?

Edit: So joining Houston SCCA doesn't mean I joined the BMW CCA - meaning no discount even if you are a Houston SCCA member?

I think you just need SCCA membership for the discount. I put in my member number when I registered, it said I had to pay $35. Then when Paypal processed it, it only charged me $25. On clubs I put none(since it only lists BMW clubs).

On DLBracing member info I'm in the Houston SCCA club.

BMW car club and SCCA are completely different organizations. If you want a member discount for the BMW club you will have to join the BMW CCA.

It gave me a discount and I'm not a member, nor do I even have a BMW.

When it asked for which club I'm in, I selected none(I scrolled through to see if Houston SCCA was on there). It only charged me $25 last time as well.

I'm curious as to why I got a discount. I threw my SCCA member number in and paid through paypal. If someone did the same let us know how much you were billed.

Nick is up for some tires.

My tires have a little more life in them. They are just slick as ice on the track. I'm hoping to put off the purchase for at least 3 more months.

I'm going to stick with my craptastic tires for a very, very, VERY long time. As much as I like winning, I'll gladly sacrifice low times for knowledge; these tires amplify my mistakes and make it very easy to tell when I'm doing something wrong.

I think my super-suck tires are the only reason I learned as quickly as I did. There were very few moments where I would find myself asking "was that the right line?" More often it was a case of "I wonder if I cou-*SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE* Nope, guess not."

One could argue that driving with sticky tires takes a different skill set then driving with slick tires. I think the switch would change the dynamics of the car enough where you have to learn to do things differently.

oh, they are gonna replace my fuel pump.. but they have to order it and it won't come in untill fridayish.. think i may be running with a bad fuel pump again for one last time lol
