Here's my loadout:
Compete in STS (heat 2) with a modded Mazda6 V6
Compete in DB (heat 4) with a stock VW Rabbit
So I will not be in my 8. You guys will have to compete with the 7's on your own this time

His tires are bald again.
Only real expenditure in autocross (besides registration) really. The better your tires the faster they die.
I should be able to make it until the fall before I need new tires, but I'm going to try and set up a local group buy for tires at wholesale prices. I'll throw it out next autocross day to get a decision on tire brand/size and who is interested.
I don't think I can get R-compounds at all though.

It's weird though - it's not my tires...
...3 of my tires have enough tread left to pass state inspection, yet for some reason, one of them decided to wear down much much much much much faster and is already showing thread :/

Wouldn't the tire wear a little more depending if you are taking more right turns than lefts turns and vice-versa? I noticed that I had more peeled rubber on my left tire in the June autocross because of that tricky right turn corner (corner #4??).

Well, I doubt its an alignment issue.
I don't understand how you are already going through another set of tires and I'm still on my factory set. We've gone to the same events. You do drive more 'spirited' than I do on the public roads though. But still the wear on that one tire is excessive.

I wish I knew.
I think the practice day just hurt that one tire somehow. I'm still on the eterna-last tires, so it's looked like a racing slick for nearly 5,000 miles now, and it really didn't look that much worse after the other events in June. I've had them flipped, rotated, and rebalanced since then, which doesn't seem to have affected the wear in the slightest.
All I know is that I don't want to spend $1000 in tires if I only need about $175 worth of the rubber!
I'm just gonna have to keep moving them around & abusing them 'selectively' until the other 3 catch up to the odd ball :/

I think this autocross just has bad timing with it being on 4th of July weekend and all.
In other news I'm looking into multiple sources for tires.

Find tire deals quickly - I'm starting to show threads...
Other route I'm feeling out is a shop on the north side. The owner might give us a good deal on everything where the price will be marginally higher than buying 4 tires and taking it someplace to get it on the rims. No logistics involved, especially on my part. If you want tires just go there get tires.
I don't need tires just yet, but I will probably avoid practice days to attempt to make them last a bit more.

40% chance of rain with the high being 93 degrees is the predicted weather.
Hopefully it doesn't rain, but chances are it will be hot as hell. You might want to bring water to drink. If you double enter you do have time for lunch. Also sun block if you feel inclined. The best idea ever is a device to put a little water on your tires, like a spray bottle or one of those do it yourself pestacide bottles than you pump. Regardless if you bring any of these things expect to have fun.
Other than that just show up and find the group of Mazda RX-8's.
Also if you are registering(and paying there) bring CASH. They don't take credit.
