Well today is my 25th birthday and I got a present or two this morning and would not mind a comment or two.
Unwrapped a K&N Typhoon Intake Sys. - I have been looking at the Revi Intake but would love to hear thoughts and facts about the K&N considering I now own one and am forced to be in the garage for a few hours tomorrow installing it
The other item is an exhaust system, what brand? no clue. Basically my business partner has a long term friend with a muffler shop that found an RX-8 exhaust system for me and will install it free. I was told that it has two smaller mufflers and dual exhaust - looks just like the mazdaspeed kit although he didnt give me the brand name and model. I will up update on this when I find out obviously.
Anyone know of any pro's/con's of the K&N Typhoon?

Like all aftermarket intakes...the 'pro' is sound and that's about it. No significant gains. I've read the typhoon might even decrease power by a few horsepower.

every little bit helps, either of those mods by themselves won't get you much, having both will add a little, plus you'll get a nicer sound and probably slightly better mileage with the intake. Gotta' start somewhere

What is this "Gas Mileage" you speak of?
I think I'm more interested in actually working on my car, getting a nice little tone out of it with a quicker throttle response is just a bonus. Although if it Dyno's at +400whp I'll let you guys know....*wakes up*

Ok, the Typhoon intake makes my car sound very pissed off weed-eaterish. Not too mention it is ungodly loud, louder than any exhaust I've ever had.
Not sure if I like it.
