Fuel pump cap removal tool anyone (in Houston)?

Does anyone have the Mazda fuel pump cap removal tool and is willing to let me borrow it or rent it?

I'm aware of the tool made by Lock Technology and sold through NAPA and AAP; I'd probably buy one but since it only leans on 2 fins, I'd rather use the Mazda one.

Thanks in advance.

If two people hit the tabs with a screw driver at the same time it goes pretty easy. Shadycrew31 and I figured this out the last time when we could not find the tool. The tool works though, just take it slow.

I too have done it 3 times with a screw driver and hammer. Light tabs and helps if you hit the top rather than the sides. I made a tool for this but the screwdriver and hammer seems to work better and easier.

Okay, okay... You guys convinced me. I'll get the Lock Tech tool. Wish me luck as I've never done this type of repair; I'm fully armed with the Service Manual as well as DIYs and other threads from this forum.

Thanks everyone.

Yes, take it slow and make sure both people hit it at the same time, firm but not hard. A new one is $53 from the dealer.

I replaced it today. The Lock Tech tool made taking the ring off the easiest part of the job; well worth $20.

Thanks.
