Question Clear Lake Blue w/ NASA parking sticker

Alright ... show yerself! While driving back from lunch, I saw another blue 8 with a NASA parking sticker. We were both on Bay Area and then turned onto Gemini.

Eradicator, it's been weeks since I've visited the forum and I just now found your post (looks like I also missed a fun autocross last Sunday). I was the one in the other Blue8 on Bay Area Blvd that day.

renotse, I was also probably the one that your wife spotted on 518. I'm around there fairly often.

Sounds like we can have a meet of just blue Houston 8s. Ha!

By the way, this is my first post to the forum. I'm glad to be giving input after sponging great info here over many months.

NASA Rd, yesterday around 11:15, right?

If you're interested, eXentric is hosting a Halo party this Saturday. I'm going up even though there's only going to be two 8's. (it was originally going to be a group ride with Halo on the side)

Otherwise, maybe we'll have to arrange a Clear Lake meet.

Yup. You eastbound, me headed west to Mamacita's.

I'll pass on the Halo party, thanks. But the Clear Lake meet idea might have potential.

By the way, I went to your website and found your cool car pics. I've been wanting to share mine, but I shot film and don't have a neg scanner. Print scans fell way short, but I'll post anyway...

...and here's a picture that goes way back to January's RevItUp at the Sam Houston Race Park (yes, my first RX-8 drive was with Adam Andretti behind the wheel).

[Edit: Scratch "January". SHRP RevItUp was in April. It was the Houston Autoshow that happened in January - my first time to touch the 8.]

Whoa ... you've got an eye for backdrops. I was so lazy about getting pics that I just did it outside the office. I really like the first 3 pics. Do you work with the T-38s to have clearance to drive on the tarmac at Ellington?

edit* Now that I look more closely, is that Ellington? I thought Ellington had T-38s and F-16s, but those are F-18s, right?

No, I don't work at Ellington or have any special clearance with them. When we connect privately I can fill you in on the whole story. For now, I'll just say...

Airshows are probably the best opportunity to work shots like that, for anyone else who wants to give it a try. The key seems to be finding the right person to help you.

Oh yeah, and it might help if you're willing to give them the keys and offer to let them drive!

Here's another picture on the Baytown Bridge...

Glad you all like em. Now I might have to go out and spring for a neg scanner to get those trons to fully cooperate!

I drove across the Baytown Bridge again today. One of my favorites.

But there are [No Parking] signs all across it. I was told that this was done post-9/11. For anyone else who wants to risk a ticket, there's a tradeoff of needing to shoot quickly so you can get out of dodge, but also having to wait for clear spots in traffic if you don't want any other cars in the photo.

I took my time and sure enough, a cop pulled over and politely urged me to move along.

Back to the jets, here's another Top Fun pic:

I go by Falcon Pass all the time. If it's blue with no spoiler, then there's a good chance it's me.

You've got to be the BMOC with wheels like that in High School. Next thing your going to tell us is that you're not even a senior yet. Ha!

Another way to tell me apart from the other Blue8s out there, I finally received my custom plate today:

It's a stretch, but I guess it's passes It's not like SPACE INV8ERS would fit.

shimm57, I'm another blue 8 in the area. I live just east of your HS in Middlebrook. I've got a spoiler and tinting.

Holy **** that was Andretti driving? He did an awesome job, but I did give him a hard time everytime he hit a cone.

You know the guy who authorized those test drives got fired. We were the last location that the prototype RX-8's were driven hard.
