calling all Austin 8's

my name is Bruce and i just moved here from Houston. im looking for a few like minded people to hang with. i met a R33 on 6th street a few nights ago and thought it would be cool to get a few people together (in a club or something) that would like to do autocrossing, car shows, street racing, barbq's, partys, or anything else that can be remotely linked to our fine automobiles. i love everything DRIFT and hope that there are others here in Austin that share my interests in pretty girls and gorgeous cars. my brother operates a fab shop on the side and has already moded my cars exhaust and stance. i need some friends (in the most unpathetic way imaginable)

The next Texas RX's monthly meeting is on July 7th at Rudy's BBQ at 7:00 PM.

11570 Research Blvd.
Austin, TX 78759

The local SCCA club Spokes (http://www.spokes.org) holds autocross events. The next of which is scheduled for 7/18.

Hi Bruce,
I haven't heard of anything Drift related in the Austin area. It sounds like Htown is the place to be for drifting (shows, traing clinics,....)

Autocrossing is held probably once a month at tech ridge by Parmer and I-35. Info can be found at www.spokes.org , fee is $20 and you usually get 4 runs in.

***moderator edit***

I recommend you checkout the TexasRXs cruises/ monthly meetings at Rudy's. It's very informal and not as strict as you think. Your girlfriend definitely can't light up, but at the very least you will meet other 8 owners there and some may share your interests.

I'm not entering the heat wave, since I'm not sure if I'll have to work those days. I've done the spokes autocrossing once and plan to go back once I get some free days. No idea on drifting. A short film would be cool.
The monthly texasRXs meeting is tommorrow (Wednesday) at 7pm at Rudy's on 183 if your interested in meeting other 8 owners. I won't be able to make it, I'll be in Vegas through Sunday.
