I've met the guy with the lowered Silver 8 with exhaust, he seems pretty cool. I did see a blue 8 driven by a girl with rim's and RB exhaust. That car is clean!

I'll be back down there for the OSU game, so if anyone sees a nordic green with yellow corners, that'd be me.

That guy parked next to me at Hastings once, and he comes to the Sonic on Texas that I work at. I haven't met him, but I love his 8. He has an rx8club decal too. Unless we're not talking about the same one.. :\

The guy with the darker grey accents? He was pretty cool, saw him outside of my work a few weeks ago (ATT @ Rock Prairie).Yea, I saw your 8 at the sonic the other day (I think, by wal-mart?) I was driving my wifes Honda because my 8 is in the shop getting a new heart. 04 with a crap engine, good thing its under warranty. But I will be driving a Mazda 3 till my car is done.

There's a Silver that works at Bryan High with me, but I haven't figured out who it is and they don't respond to the notes I've left on the windshield. I may just have to wait for them in the parking lot some day. This doesn't make me a stalker does it?

Also just as a feeler, how many people would be interested in having a meet up here in the B/CS? If enough people show interest, I'll make another thread and set it up.

If it were a person, yes, but it's a car, so it just makes you an enthusiast

Well i'm thinking of the AP complete exhaust system for my car that would be nice, i hear it is loud though just hope that it's not TOO loud. I need Clear corners and obviously all the under body plastics that I am missing thanks to that tire. If my car does not come back with the AP underdrive pulley that I had on it i guess I will need to get me a new one...

Yep, that's the Sonic lol. I hate that job.

I'm taking my 04 to the dealership AGAIN because of a problem with the powersteering. It's had this problem where the powersteering will be off randomly when I start the car, but it'll be just fine the next time I use it. We got it fixed 5 months ago, it wasn't in need of more fluid, it had something to do with the module itself. I just don't know why it'd be doing this again if they fixed it so shortly ago.

What's with you people and your cars? I have an 04 that I've had absolutely no problems with (and Mike you're being somewhat misleading about the cause of said 'crap engine' :P ).

Anyway I'm going to make another thread for a meet up
, even if it ends up just being 3 or 4 of us hanging out. Meet thread

Matt,

Yes and no. See, they got my car up and running before they told me I need a new engine. You might want to go see if you need one to. The reason I am not soo misleading is because There are 2 other 8's in the shop right now getting the same "New Engine" treatment as me. Also there were 5-6 done last month according to the Mazda Service Manager. Its not a crap motor, just a few specific years were labeled as "troubled years" causing Mazda to extend the warranty for that and issue a recal for said engine. So eat that Monstermatt.....

I heard about that too. The service guy was talking to me about how they start having problems after 60k? Mine's right at 62, it's starting to worry me. I'm at the shop for a somehow more expensive problem though, so maybe a new engine is the least of my issues.

Mikey you wouldn't happen to have a silver 8 at Garlyn Shelton would you? I saw it when I went today. Very pretty.

Kristi,

Yes that was my silver 8. I'm sorry you had to see it in all of is post tire accident glory. I promise one day it will look better than new. What is wrong with your 8? Jackie the Service Manager there was a great help in all of my issues, with the engine and my new motor mounts and my insurance issues...

Matt,

I had to get new motor mounts!!! Why???? I have no idea! But hopefully i can tack that on to my insurance claim... We shall see.

I don't know what you're talking about, it wasn't bad looking at all!

But my car has had power steering issues since I got it. You start it up and the power steering will be off, yet sometimes I'll turn it on and it'll be just fine. We took it five months ago for this same reason.

Apparently my response to your post did not go up. But it was pretty lengthy so to summarize it went something like this:
Mike; Motor mounts, cool. Not uncommon.
Kristi; Mike's car is jacked up in the front. Other than that its a good looking car. Once he gets his front end on it will be so nice.

You need to re-route the hose that runs off of the coolant resevior.. that coolant when its over flowed throws coolant on the connectors for the Power steering wires.. Since it is ELECTRICAL Power steered it will cause i to not function properly..

BE CAREFUL thier have been reports of the power steering going completely dead while driving.

Just a little advice. I think some people have cleaned them and they work just fine.. or you can go ahead and replace them.
