TX Austin/Round Rock/Georgetown Shops

Hello,
I'm looking to get some new brakes, can anyone recommend a shop in the Austin/Round Rock area that they've experienced.
The Stealership wants to charge me almost $300 for my front brakes.

Also can anyone recommend a RX8 friendly bodyship, I got a nice dent on the driver's side front & back doors that I would like to get repaired.

Thanks in advance.

brakes are best done by yourself, you wont have to worry about dishonest people or getting ripped off. if you have no idea how to take the brakes apart and put new ones on then some place simple like midas or a place that has experience with a large range of cars will be fine. and the bodyshop i do not know off hand other than a mazda dealer.

John Long at jcautospecialist, (or john and corky's etc) he has 2 shops, one in round rock and one in georgetown. I think they used to be jcautospec and now they're specialists or something, someone else can chime in on that one. He's one of the best Mazda mechanics in this region and left the Mazda dealership to strike out on his own, he does great work and won't try and rip you off etc.

As far as body shops go take it to Rebreu and talk to Gene, tell him I sent you (Randall with the yellow Rx8), Rene is a body tech there and a good friend of mine and he'll take care of your ride big time. I take my car to them exclusively, as long as he works there it won't go anywhere else.

My 8 just spent a week at Roger Beasley Collision cause someone tried to break into my car, it came out looking amazing. They did excellent bodywork and paint.

I think I'm gonna end up hitting up that body shop you recommended Canary, cause my luck with my 8 just ran out yet again.

It's to the point where I think it's time to sell the car, in 1 month I have had my car rear-ended, broken into, and now when I'm leaving my apartment some lady is speeding through the lot and hits me as I'm already backed out into the middle of the lot. I'm thinking it's time to go with a 2500HD or F250...something where damage to my car is minimal and the other one is jacked up haha.

Hey Randall,
Im looking to put an alarm on the car within the next 2 weeks or so, prolly the week of the 15th. I went on your friends website and I dont see any of the alarms they offer. I have always had Viper but will work with whatever they have to offer as long as it isnt crap. You said these guys know the car and wont screw up any of my wiring. I would like a 2way LCD remote. Do you know offhand if they carry something like that?

I'll be in the area next weekend, I'll install and bleed your brakes for 75 bucks if you buy the pads. I'll bring everything else. I'll be staying in the Killeen area, let me know.

Yeah, I called up Gene at Rebreu and they are gonna take care of me, it's going in for the repairs on Tuesday. Apparently they work with my insurance company quite often too, so I think this'll be good stuff.
