I'm down for whatever, with the first show and my car having a real sponsor this year I'll be spending lots of my weekends up at the shop but I'm still down for whatever. The weather's getting nicer and I know the club has lots of drives coming up, we could also do some sort of impromptu deal aside from those, maybe drive out to the Oasis or something? The food is ok, the view is pretty cool, and the surrounding roads are a hoot, even if they are more crowded these days. (ugh)

 

that sounds good to me if everybody else is down, we'll have to plan it sometime all of us can make it, i know phantom works alot of nights and warren works along with school so im guessing maybe a week day?

haha it may not be this weekend cause i know phantom will be back in AZ dealing with his car issues. and warrens no where to be heard from in the past week or two...

 

yeah, this weekend is out with V-day anyway, all the restaraunts are going to be full on booked, better to try for a different weekend where nothing else is going on etc.

it has a deep moan sound, kinda like a WRX, just not very loud, and the car seems almost a litttttle hesitant especially 3rd and 4th gear. NO BUENO!!

must be something in the air, my car wouldn't start earlier today, just kept turning over, I let it sit a few seconds, tried again and it barely started, then was fine the rest of the day........freekin weird random crap..ugh. :-P

 

i think we kinda got it figured out, we'll probably end up talking to alamo rotary to see if they can re-seal the motor basically.

haha i wish it was just something in the air, but unfortunately this has been going on for a week, it's just a rotary motor issue, totally normal...to us :D

 

so what did they quote you for the bad seals? or have you been able to get that far yet? lol im looking at buying some new tires, rotors, and brake pads then that hks exhaust and finally after i save up some money a turbo kit along with the turbo upgrade

 

I'm pondering different sideskirts but i don't think I could pull it off before show season so probably not any time soon. Doesn't look like I'm going to the Padre show, which is fine as my car isn't ready and it's a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng boring drive anyway

 

anyone in austin/close by have the stock mid pipe section with a cat /clogged cat they want to get rid of /sell to me cheap

I've been finding out where everyone meets (car meets) on Saturday nights the last 2 weekends and freezing my *** off in the process

nice, heyy i heard of an open event down here a buddy of mine told me about. some event where they close down some streets around austin and you get to run your cars...he's gonna get me more info on it if any of you are interested?

Well I found a couple of spots, one is Saturday night (pretty late, seemed to pick up around 9pm) at the BestBuy at Gateway or 183/360 by the Container Store etc. Mostly younger/import/street racing crowd, no custom cars were out there when i went save for mine. (doh!)

The other hang out was by the Carl's Jr on 1431, in front of the closed Circuit City, this place seemed perfect, older hotrod type crowd too, (more like the original home depot/1431 crowd)

Tinseltown in puh-flugerville supposedly has a small gathering, we went and it was bust, but it was also freeeeeezing that night so.....

These were all on Saturday evening/night, don't know of anything kickin' on a Friday.

 

I dont know where any of those are but would anyone be interested in going to the Carls Jr on 1431 this Saturday?? I miss car shows. That was my every Saturday night back home. Havent found a good one since Ive been here.

 

I'd probably be down, but I have family coming into town so I'm not sure what my weekend looks like at this point.

 

im down to hit up carls on a saturday night right in front of the closed circuit city on 1431, thats right down the street about 16 miles from me. if anybody is definitely going let me know and ill be there, i havent been to a good car show in a while myself. itd be nice to have a fleet of 8's there too
