Jedi54 04-02-2008 10:44 AM

they work every time. :D:

laythor 04-02-2008 05:08 PM

Just installed it. Took all of about 4 minutes. Another great mod by RR!

Jedi54 04-02-2008 05:09 PM

^^^ and were any limbs injured during the installation of this mod? ;)

laythor 04-02-2008 06:37 PM

It was a bloodless install. I can take that console out in my sleep, just printed out the one picture that shows tapping the red wire and connecting to the point of the blue wire.

It's very nice to just push the button once, pull the e brake, grab my phone and shut off the car.

Very nice, I purchased the DEI 530T so that I can make the windows one touch and controlled with the alarm.

So when I install this sunroof mod, can it take a trigger from an alarm to close it?

Making it a true one touch for the car by locking and all the windows and sunroof close. :) Or open in the summer to let the hot air out.

i know the sunroof doesnt stay powered on like the windows after the key is off.....to operate the sunroof the key has to be in.....so im not sure if it could work unless you change the sunroof powersource....

laythor 04-03-2008 12:22 AM

4 years has already posted a link on how to keep the sunroof powered after key is off.

Yes it can, you just a have to run one wire to the alarm module. Of course, this is only if the sunroof still has power.

Awesome, I think you're the first to install it. I'm glad it works to your liking.

Excellent shifting gears to do some electronics work.

Logic gates, brushing up and getting back so I can have some fun with my alarm, remote start install and other niceties.

4 Years... Can you make a DIY thread when you finish this? Thanks.

Rotary Rasp... This GB for the sundroof module isn't ending soon is it? If so, I need to buy one. Otherwise I am probably going to wait a little longer before buying it.

raizen82 04-03-2008 12:00 PM

i still haven't figured out the powered sunroof DIY. i'm scared to cut the wrong P/B wire. how do you find out which one? i can't tell from looking at the pics and diagrams....

Depends on what you consider soon.... I should be selling them for at least another month.

The correct pink / black is the one in the front closest to the rear passenger seat if the clip is still attached to the car.

The Green / yellow is the one in the opposite corner of the clip as the correct pink / black. I clipped the tape that had it held together, makes it much easier. :)

I didn't check to see what the other pink / black wire is for.

I will if needed but I think Rotary Rasp did a good job in the first post showing where the connections are for this one touch module.

The one thing he may have missed is where to press the clips on the map light assembly to release next to the lights.

I did it last night to hard wire my Valentine One. It is about an inch in from the back of the car on the sides of the map light assembly.

Go in a little bit horizontally with the screwdriver and then move the screwdriver tip toward the ceiling about a fourth of an inch. Then push the clip in toward the map light assembly while pulling down on the back of the assembly. Do one corner and then you should be able to shimmy the other corner out.

I think there may be directions in the manual as well but I don't remember them being as helpful... if you can make heads or tails of my long winded descriptive description. ;)

There is a DIY on how to remove the map light assembly.

I meant a DIY for this with an aftermarket alarm which opens the sunroof and windows by pushing unlock on the key fob like BMW's have.

raizen82 04-03-2008 06:33 PM

woot, mailman just handed mine right now. thanks rodger!

Mazurfer 04-03-2008 07:51 PM

Yep, got mine today as well Rodger. Will probably put it in tomorrow evening.

Thanks again!

Dave

Rotary Rasp 04-03-2008 08:03 PM

What are you guys waing for?!?!?!

It takes all of 5 minutes!

and yea, removing the map light requires a little brute force.

Mazurfer 04-03-2008 08:08 PM

I had to play golf in the golf league today after work, got home after dark, ate, and need a shower. I'll do it tomorrow......I don't think the sunroof is going anywhere!
