the only thing i would say to watch out for is one of the locator pins on the mirror assemblys. it was pointed out somewhere in this thread. one pin is straight and the other has a notch that will keep getting snagged on the door frame if you try to pull it straight out. i broke the first one and the body shop that fixed my car broke the second one

Tips:

When removing the mirror housing from the car be carful of the top pin. It's offset and you need to move it up out then down to keep from breaking it.

Running the wires from the housing to the point that attaches to the car is maddingly simple, just follow the instructions and don't overthink the routing. It might look a bit "strange" but it works

Look at the fitment of your side view mirrors to your car before you take them off. They have a slight gap before you even touch them. When you go to put them back on this is good to know (will save you trying to overtighten the three bolts holding it on.

Have a big towel or large piece of carpet to put all your items on when you take them off, keeps the scratches away.

You have to pull with some force to pop the inner door panel off. I found it was easier to start in the bottom corner opposite from the mirro but your mileage may vary.

The little bose tweeter enclosure can be a pain to snap back into place, just use more force then you think you should.

Test the polarity of the light before wire tapping (or soldering) anything. The lamps come with the bulb installed so it's easier to change the wiring then swap the bulb. DO NOT ASSUME that one side's wiring is the same as the other. My passenger and driver side wires are tapped in the opposite color pattern from each other

for the bose tweeter i just unscrewed it from the plastic housing and left it hanging. and for the polarity, there is a thin red or black stripe on the blue and green wires going to the couresy light. you can use these as guidelines for checking the polarity but check it anyway.

Argh! This sux...............the friggin USPS site still says.............

"Label/Receipt Number: 9101 8052 1390 7309 xxxx xxx
Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on December 3, 2007 to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if / when available. No further information is available for this item. "

Hey Shaz..........see when you actually put these in the mail for me please. I think you PM'd me with this tracking info on the 14th.

Dave

yeah, usps doesn't actually provide tracking. You just get that message about billing info received and then after you get them they update their site.
pretty lame...

Okay, guess I'll chill out, just getting anxious I suppose. Hopefully they will appear today or tomorrow.

Happy Holidays!

i seemed to have missed the instructions in skimming the 12 pages of posts. do you mind pointing me in that direction? they look pretty cool but i haven't done much installing and want to see if it's going to be too much of a PITA to install.

His link to the instructions isn't working. Do a search for the instructions for derwankel's puddle lights. It is an identical install. BTW it's easy to do. Some screwdrivers and a pair of pliers is all that's needed.

Puddle lights arrived today Wil..............thanks!

Will probably install tomorrow.

By the way Wil......using the site where your pics from the first post are. I figured out that you don't have your instructions on that site at all, but your traffic citation is! (ha ha) Sorry, but I was trying to see if it was just the address you gave in the paperwork, but that wasn't the case. The pdf file just isn't there AND you need to double-check the addy you give in the paperwork with the lights.

Happy Holidays!

Dave
