I participated in Kane's previous tuning session hosted by Kma....all I can say is, AMAZING. I learned a ton. Kane basically walked through the entire tuning spectrum. I now have everything down pretty good except timing(my fault, not his. I just can't seem to grasp it) He answered all of my stupid questions and we still managed to move through the class at a decent pace. Anyone who is wanting to learn anything about tuning should definitely take part in the class. It's well worth it
|
I'm in! I loved the first one, and it will be fun to do again and re-learn all the stuff I forgot.
I'll probably drive down, I'm up in BC, and Seattle is great. I'll probably get AreAxeAte to join up/come down as well. Tell me where to send my money. |
Don't worry bwilk, We'll get all that info on here soon. I'm glad to see a positive response to this so far. I think it's going to be a great two days. Might have to have a BBQ for lunch while were at it.
|
I need a tuning 102 :P
I would also like to know his main fueling approach, via fuel tables, maf manipulation, or ve manipulation. |
Well then, you know what you have to do.
|
I'm in! Sign me up!
You are correct to assume this:

In person, I think a class of no more than 12. In total, I cannot possibly do more than 14-16 cars at a time, lol. I get confused (that is a lot of logs flying around). |
when I say fueling approach I meant some folks spend most of there time on one table
math cal aside, desired fuel aside a person could adjust maf scale til they got what they wanted or match the fuel table adjust VE til they got what they wanted or match the fuel table or adjust the fuel table to get what they wanted willy nilly like I understand there is a bit of finace as you work with them all, but one table holds more weight then another table from person/tuner to person/tuner what is yours? mine is VE |
All of the above! LOL
Scale for accuracy on the MAF and Injector Tables, then fine tune with the VE%, and finally adjust fuel tables for power. |
IC, I guess I am similar accept I just do calibration with the maf, and fuel, then tune with VE, then adjust fuel tables, but I am FI so though similar, as you know the initial setup is much different :)
|
Im in for Webinar, West coast is to far to travel :(

Drivability is great!!
I am doing the turbo so My stuff is different. All the out of boost areas are similar to na tuning. but when tuning the top end above 100% load I keep the Maf at realistic values and redo the VE to match the target fuel once I get that then I change the fuel table for power. Having 380gs with .99ve is better then 550gs and .88ve imho |
I am def in for day 1 and more than likely the remote tuning on day two.
|
300 for both days, or 200 for day 1 then 300 for day 2? Either way I'm coming down. Anybody got a couch for a fellow rotary enthusiast to crash on?
|
A little update of the first post.
|
Put me down for both days. Hopefully to be one of the cars too, but if there's more to be learned from one of you turbo guys I am easy on this one. In person obviously...
|
I will be in Day 1 of the Webinar, I will continue one on one tuning with Kane on his schedule over the summer.
Another quick question tho, maybe Kane can answer. I pre-ordered a 2015 STI, and will have it by then how much of this session will focus on other cars as said in the title. Now I know the 2015 is not supported currently but it will be (Using the same EJ motor and same ECU with an update OE map) and it will be nice to get a beginners inside look into it. |
Both Days (300); we can do all cars that are local on Day two but only 4 remote ones.
Day one only (200). Does that help clear it up? |
Who and when do we send money to?
|
Probably worry about that in a week or two. First things first I always say - I'm not in a hurry to get paid. I'm more interested on how many we'll have.
|
Fair enough, add me to Day 1 Webinar.
|
Beauty Kane, thanks for clearing that up. I was under the impression it was just the 4 cars local.
|
Add me to day 1 webinar.
Kane / Easy, Will there be any recording of the webinar sent out post webinar? |
I want dibs for a spot on both days! I will be driving down from BC as well. Send me payment procedure. Thanks again for putting this together Kane. Looking forward to it.

Ill be the first to take a online download.
|
Score. Hopefully that is included in our fee, if not, add that to my balance.
|
Now, who's coming that has a turbo? I want to see what I'm missing out on.
|
Couple questions for you, Kane.
I am very interested in Day 1 via Webinar. I am planning right now to be available that day for the class. Will a recording of the class be available for free to those who pay for the webinar? I am sure I am going to want to go back and review certain parts of the training. Second question: I would love to have the remote tuning done for my car on Day 2. However, I am NA and have no real plans right now to go FI. Realistically, after the Day 1 training session I should have the capabilities to safely tune NA correct? I wouldn't want to occupy 1 of the 4 spots when there might be some others who would benefit more from a remote tune. Thank you, I really look forward to this. Definitely sign me up for Day 1. |
this looks pretty interesting, don't own an access port yet, but plan to buy one when I rebuild my engine and install my greddy turbo kit, definitely down for day 1, and day 2 if my car is ready local of course. where will the tuning take place? is there any plan to rent a dyno?

Realistically, all the cars should be able to tune themselves. There are just a lot of people who learn more by doing and therefore they like a hands on day as well. NA has a greater margin of safety so there is more wiggle room for learners. |

There are no plans as of yet for a dyno, since that is only worthwhile after the car is already tuned or nearly tuned. |
Ill join in for the webinar. Would really like to learn more!

Is this an interactive class? Meaning bring a laptop with the cobb software? Is this geared more towards NA?

You bring your @$$ up here. By the way, the last one was geared towards EITHER NA or FI. Kane walked us through the basics of planning for a turbo as well as helping us tune for either NA or for FI. It was way more of a theory class, so you know WHY you're doing what you're doing.
Then during the hands on portion, you will actually tune your car while I help show you what to look for on the logs and what to adjust. The fundamentals of tuning are basically the same regardless of your engine setup. |
DAY ONE 06/07/2014 (on location participants) $200

I would imagine one of the two I tuned will be around.
|
I'm up to come with mine if I have it running....it had better be done by then ;)
|
I don't know what the hang out policy would be, I mean it would be fun to go and meet up, but I can't justify the trip and $300 when I might not learn anything new. like I said I would want a 102 or 105 class and or a turbo Rensis on the dyno, shooting for power and messing with timing.
that said, this would be a great class for beginners and novice! getting a solid understanding of all the maps and how they all work with each other is essential!! also the insight that Kane will most likely provide regarding the nature of the Renisis will be indispensable for beginners and novice alike. |
Come on down guys on Day Two if you want to. Hanging out is fine with me after the class is over.
