Listen all I want is for everyone including myself to receive this item. Ok I'm sorry for calling the authorities on you but we even gave you a dealine to repond to a month of time to get back to us before we took action and you still didn't respond.

Whatever, I don't want to fight anymore what happend happend I really just want my part, so beat me up for taking some action when someone needed to.

As far as fraud as I said before, I made it crystal clear to the authorities that you may have had issues due to the deaths in your family and that we were not accussing you of anything, we only wanted someone to find you and make sure you were even alive.

I would never put anyone in a situation like that if I didn't see reason to investigate, I wouldn't want it done to me as I wouldn't want to not have a response for 2 months as well, so you can understand why I made a call.

As I said before Carlos I would really just like my item that would be satisfaction enough for me to just forget about the whole thing please don't make this worse than it already is.

 

I never new of any deadline until yesturday when I checked in and saw all of this, In regards to the authorities; they have zero impact on my actions as they only care about criminal fraud (And none has transpired...) and they where knocking on the wrong door...

When I called the poor soul they gave me the number of the detective who I immediatly called and spoke with... Case closed...

(By the way have you removed the persons address from your post; the only thing he has to do with this is sharing the same last name...)

I am not fighting with anyone, nor do I care to...

I have consulted the forces that be and it is up to me, I have two choices send the POD or issue a credit; both at my discretion...

Regardless of who gets the POD or a refund this is not going anywhere from here nor will it be a problem for me...

Money or POD this thread and issue will be closed by the end of the holiday weekend...

I certainly understand why you would never want to do a Group Buy again. The reaction you are getting is certainly not worth it.

On a side note, what have you done to your car recently? You always seem to be doing something to it....

 

Well maybe if I say "Will ship within a year", and then ship it in 6 months everyone would be happy...

Carlos had mentioned that he lost $450 in this group buy because he didn't sell as many as was required to offset the cost. Although I missed the original deadline in late 2004, I posted and PMed a few times requesting and asking to be added to the buy list. I would have purchased more than one. There are other buyers out there to offset the cost! After asking for months and seeing what happened, I am certainly never going to be able to buy one.

I had sent a PM, I closed the group buy as getting them from the supplier is a slow process and I did not want to take anymore deposits until I had the process down... If this was a standard part that came ready to ship than no big deal, however that is not the case...

My goodness..thankfully this is all over. I can't blame everyone for being all pissy about it either. I would have been livid..and the fact that i live close to you, i would have driven down there in heartbeat if i was involved. But i probably would have made sure i was going to the right house first.

oh well, glad it's all done with. but i'm most certainally never doing a GB-done by anyone!

The delivery of these items was never in question as Omicron and others had indicated (Unfortunately we live in a very non-trusting society that is suspect of everyone and always assuming the worst...), this was not an off the shelf product that had been fully developed ordered then reshipped; it is a custom piece done by a small-med size fabricator on their spare time...

In the end/retrospect when I started this little project I had more spare time and it took longer than I had originally anticipated. By then a new job and a few bumps in the road made this a low priority that I really was not even thinking about but was going to get back to eventually.

I am sorry that a few became a little impatient but this is what it is, and looking back would not change anything...

One other point, this is not and was never a business venture; it was an altruistic gesture to make something I was going to do regardless available to others... I would rather have just paid the original cost for a one-off peice as I have done in the past than try to share the cost with others and deal with the hassle... So in the end I offer no apology just my sympathy, and if someone wants a part that normally would not be available at the cost and quality they need they can go and spend the time and money to have it custom fabricated themselves...

In conclusion, most group-buys including this one are performed by honest people trying to help out others while helping out themselves (In this case others only...) and are successful and therefore such conclusions should not be made.
