The 24 Hours of Daytona-Gauging Interest

After a successful event @ VIR, I met with Grand-Am officials to discuss the 2010 season. Of course the the first event is the 24 Hours of Daytona! Here is what was discussed.

1. Private Camping Area for Mazda owners

2. Special Pricing for Mazda Corral Attendees

3. Special Viewing for the KONI Challenge Races (atop the garages)

4. Raffles for Piloti Shoes, KONI & Rolex Flags and other swag

5. Personal Paddock Tours of all of the Mazda Teams w. Photo Ops/Autographs

6. Tech Talks w/ Grand-Am Officials, Pirelli & Hoosier Tires and KONI

7. Viewing Party @ Freedom Autosports Paddock (they have a 50" HD TV) Rolex Race

We are working on other special deals and activities for Mazda owners, if you have any ideas, please feel free to let meknow and I will pass them on!.

As many of you know, there will be more RX-8's running in 2010, Team Sahlen's is going to be running 2-RX-8's, Dempsey Racing is rumored to have purchased a second car, so these added to the Racers Edge and the SpeedSource cars means a lot more flames and the unique exhaust notes of the 3-rotor motor!

On top of that, we'll see the debut of the 2010 Speed 3's in the KONI Challenge ST Class with Freedom Autosport and Team MER, (who may be leaving the MX-5 Cup to move to Grand-Am KONI Challenge racing!)

So, once again, let Mazda outshine all of the others with the most numbers of cars and members.

This is just a few of the things we dis

I plan on being there. Hopefully I can secure a crew spot with either Team Sahlen or Dempsey Racing by then. Marlon, any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I think MER had raced in the Koni series before, I believe they ran RX-8's...it will still be an awesome season next year!!!

I know, I am working with Grand-Am marketing on Car Club Pricing. I will let you know when we have it finalized. I will keep everyone updated in regards to pricing.

Pricing for the 24 Hours of Daytona

Here is what we have worked out with Daytona so far......please keep in mind that we are still working on some other programs per se.

Here is what the track has offered so far:

$55 4-day ticket
- Reserved parking outside in dog track property
- Sprint Fanzone and garage access
- R24 base ball cap

Obviously we can add things like the tech talks, driver meet and greets, Pirelli tire compound tours, shoe/banner give-aways, commemorative R24 poster, etc. I am also asking if we can include parking in the infield for the KONI race on Friday night.

We are working on the dedicated camping area for Mazda Owners at the moment, so stay tuned for more updates.

Camping Update

Had a conference call with the track management in regards to the dedicated Mazda campsite area. I explained to them exactly what we are looking for and how to go about it.

I will have an answer by the middle of next week, so stay tuned for further updates.
