I wouldn't run Stage 1 unless you plan to monitor it CLOSELY. My car had ridicilously lean values on that map, wait for MM's basemap or don't install it.

For those of you who have questions about the tuning process, please refer to the following posts before you ask any questions!

So you wanna be a tuner?

All you have to do is see who has contributed all the effort, time, research, and testing into everything from the emanage to the Accessport to see who the real professional is.

LoL.. i know that Cobb Tuning says on there website NOT to use the stage one map that comes with the accessport if ur running catless or with a midpipe cause it could cause the rx8 to lean out to dangerous levels...so how exactly would this work cos im buying alz0rz's accessport and would obviously have to run the stage one map until i get a custom tuning from you... is it safe?

You do not have to run the stage 1 tune with the accessport. There's nothing that forces you to run any of Cobb's tunes. I would advise you to read the above threads so you can further educate yourself on how the accessport works and what it's capabilities are.

There's also vidoes at MazdaManiac.com that you should check out showing the basic functions and installation of the AP.

If you are using an SAFC I would highly advise you to remove it before using the accessport as it could interfear with the operation of the AP or otherwise cause inaccurate results from your tune.

What you do is follow the instructions laid out in the base calibration thread and use one of the MM base calibrations so you can data log to have a custom tune built.

I know there's a lot of posts to go through but it's in your best interest to understand some basics of the tuning process so you can better understand what's happening with your RX8.

every time i go to a dyno day and drive around with jeff in my car i end up asleep, then groggy, and my ass hurts. Is that normal for an AP tune? oh, and can the AP mask a CEL?

I guess it goes to show you that there's a service for everyone with the AP.
