Good Guy: Charles R. Hill

So I know there are a crap load of these exact posts. Let me add.
But I think this is a special case that deserves special community attention.
I did not buy anything from CRH or BHR!

I had a great clutch pedal bracket issue... the one where the spot welds like to fail? I contacted CRH because I knew of his expertise on the issue and asked him to explain to me what he thought the situation was and if he could justify me spending $300 on his reworked OEM pedal offer.

He did that. And then some. After I explained the problem and gave him my options, he did something I have never seen a businessman do: he told me NOT to buy his product, NOT to buy Fluids reinforcement bracket, and he explained everything concerning the problem based on his experience. Since I had explained I knew a professional welder who was willing to help me out for free; he told me to pocket my money, take out the bracket and just have my friend stitch weld the bracket for free. He even hooked me up with pictures of his shop's exact welding work so I could have my friend recreate the BHR OEM pedal exactly. Charles listened to my problem, took the time to understand my problem, and then assisted me in the best possible way for ME. That, my friends, is complete and utter selfless service.

With all that being said, in a similar situation if you do not know a professional welder, I can advocate that you work with BHR to get their pedal. I know that it fixes the problem 100% and then some. It's a little overdone, but the extra welds and protection are worth the stiff clutch feel. The lifetime guarantee he provides on the work are also nice.

From this experience, it's obvious that CRH is more concerned with the welfare of you, your RX-8, and its performance and not the money.

Even though I didn't spend any money this time around, I can assure you I will be calling BHR whenever I need anything they offer... which is next paycheck. I'll be picking up some coils for sure.

R

What a good thread to read
BHR is my favorite vendor for this very same reason. I live far away from the u.s and finding aknowledged rotary shops here is practically impossible. Charles, Todd, Erick and even Jeff never refuse to help you and point out what's the best solution for you. I like this way of keeping a business a lot but i understand that it is a big sacrifice in terms of time for them.

Thumbs up

I think that puts BHR in the lead ahead of Fluid for the most good guy threads on one page of this section. Ray did that for me with a BOV. Great guy

I'd rather see people happy with their car,, whether or not it's with our products or the competitions.
That's what we're here for,, the consumer.

come to think of it, someone from bhr, i can't remember who, pm'd me when i was having trouble installing my cai and offered to walk me through it over the phone.
By then i had it figured out, but wow. BHR doesn't know me. They just know I have an 8. I think it's awesome that we have such a talented group of folks willing to help out our community. Mad props to the BHR crew.
