Angry carsoptions.com

Do not do business with CARSOPTION.COM. These guys are soooo unprofessional it is unreal. 6 weeks I got a mazdaspeed wing off of them (carbon fiber) and when it came it was brokin where one of the hinges are, (carbon fiber breaking? Ya thats what I thought). I notified them of it very politely and everything sounded like it was going to go great. Now, they have become very hostile, abusive, and volgar over the phone with me for absolutly no reason. I have never felt to frustrted with anyone my hole life. If I lived in Califorina, I would probelly be in jail this morning. Please do me a favoir everyone, if you are members on anyother car sights, please help me protect other people from falling into the same trap with these guys as I did and spread the word not to do business with them, we dont need people in the industry like this. Thank you. :o

Helas, just an FYI, most carbonfibre parts(in the aftermarket world) are made of fibre glass with just a layer of CF over it. IMO, it was never ment to be on your car and this was a sign from above to keep your car away from rice!!!!

BTW how did you pay for this Item and is there any way you can recoup some of the losses?

Are you out of pocket now? Did they not insure this item when they sent it? Keep pushing. Hopefully we'll discuss in more detail on Thursday night.

Helas, pay special attention to the latter part of Dark's post.

If you paid using a Visa / MC, you most likely have some type of purchase protection on your card.

If they continue to give you grief and won't replace the wing or refund your money, I would get on the phone with your bank / credit card company and see if you can file a claim with them.

Im am out of pocket as of right now. I paied with my visa and spoke with them this morning and they said that there is nothing that they could do for me unless i return the wing and send visa a respect to prove that i have returned the product. Then they could go after them, which I think Im gonna do. Dont worrie, Im a lover not a fighter but in this case, BRING IT! Im not gonna loose, I can be quite tenatious when I wanna be. Dark, ya ya I should know better, your right. I'll keep ya all posted. Just spread the word and dont do business with them. PLEASE

Who was responsible, the supplier or the shipping company? Maybe go after the courier.

Hello everyone. I would like to try to clear up anything that is unclear as of now. First off if anyone thinks that "Pete" lose $2000 to us they are wrong. I believe he is talking about another company.

And about us saving money on shipping by putting it as a $5 sample product, all the people here who know about out of country shipping knows what the person recieving the item will be charged a considerable amount if the item was to be more. And we did insure the item but it was just for $5.

And did that for the customer. Right now we are trying to resolve this is a civil manner. But by you calling us and arguing with us about how the shipping company broke your product does not help the situation.

If I "wanted to be a DICK" about the situation what I would have done is tell you to read our term and conditions about damaged items.

Because of that clause in our terms you can not do anything about it because you admitted to taking the item after checking it. But we did not do that to you. We tried to help you as much as we could but you went out of the country for a while and we never heard from you after you said you would contact us either via phone or email, but you did not.

What we try to do here is to be fair but you are just thinking about yourself. I was trying to make it as fair as possible but you tried to make it better for you. Right now I could leave you hanging and you can go through the CC company but like you stated you would have to return the item and have proof.

That is not civil at all but if you want to play it this way we can. I was already willing to give you the replacement parts with only half the cost we buy it at which means we will be losing money on this item yet you still trun around and you are still thinking about goign through the CC company. Please let me know what you want to do because we can handle it in a civil manner which we perfer or your way.

I am truly sorry that your item was damaged but you know that we put the $5 charge for you. You asked us to see if we can dropt he duty charge and now you are trying to make it our fault.

We have now sold over 20 of these spoilers all over the US and Canada and we have yet to have a problem with them. You were the first to have a broken item while being out of the country so we did not knwo how to deal with it. And we were trying to deal with it at fast as possible. And you knew that.

Right now I believe this should clear up some stuff. If anyone has question please feel free to ask, if it is about our policy, anything.

PS I found about about this tread because a member told me about it, that was happy with our customer service and was very understanding about everything. For that I thank you!

PPS And if any other RX-8 owners decides we are worthy of you business we would appreciate the business still and I hope that one bad comment will not make up your mind for you.

I would like to say that I bought a Mazda wing from carsoption.com and it arrived last month. I live in Ontario Canada.

I had real concerns with shipping from California by courier. Take UPS for example. They charge duty, then a charge to collect duty. They charge shipping. Then they have a brokerage fee. Then they collect a Canadian tax called GST, and on top of that, they charge a fee for collecting the tax. I have bought things off of eBay, and the total UPS charges were more than the actual cost of the goods.

When I expressed this to carsoption.com, they said something they have done in the past is declared it a sample good valued at $5. They told me if they did that, it would cost $80 to ship at it.

I grabbed at the opportunity. I also knew if it got lost or broken, it was only worth $5 as far as anyone one concerned. I gambled that if I did have a problem, I would have gone back on my credit card company, or sent them back my VISA cut in half (life's a bitch :D )

Carsoption.com stayed in touch with me. California was in a heat way, their warehouse was not nearby, they had to get the proper shipping box, but all-in-all, they answered by e-mail and stayed in touch.

I am having the wing installed on September 6th. The body shop has installed a lot of these types of parts on riced-out cars, but they said this was a quality product. It fitted well when measured up to the body.

The wing stands are Fiberglas, not plastic. Aluminum stands will pit and corrode in the Canadian winters from the road salt. This is why Harold in the UK makes and sells stainless steel strakes.

I feel bad for Helas situation, but I have not found carsoption.com difficult to deal with and I am sure happy with the cost ($310) and the quality of the product. I will post pictures when it is mounted and painted.

I just spoke to HELAS on the phone and I assume he has read teh last two post. Right now we have resolved the problem. He will be shipped the new part by next Friday and will not have to return our part, due to the fact that it will be a waste of money to him.

Right now I would like to ask how does the RX-8 forum really stand with CarsOption.com because I can honestly say that I DO care what consumers think and I hope that this one comment will not hurt the RX-8 community with CarsOption.com.

Right now it seems like everything is fine and I truely hope it is and I do also hope that we get these pics up soon so that I can see what you guys think. I will be checking in on this link occausionally so neg or pos feed back is good. Let us know what we can do for you and anyway we can help just like r042wal did.

Thank you and have a good day!

Though I've never ordered anything from you: I do admire the steps you've taken to resolve this issue.

Some might question that you only did it because of this thread but none the less; Helas will be getting his new part and all is resolved.

Good job. I'll keep you in mind for future purchases

I also admire what you did to try to resolve this issue and I trust that you have resolved the issue with Helas. Good for you. This builds trust for future buyers of your products because you took the time to explain, resolve the problem and treated the customer as your priority.

HOWEVER, I would like to point out that I know Helas personally and this guy is a top notch, true and fair individual and he would never, i repeat NEVER start a thread like this if he did not feel that you were in the wrong in a significant way.

Misunderstandings do happen and tempers flare indeed when someone is not satisfied with their purchase. This is likely what happened in this case.

I know Helas and if you satisfy him, he would be your best salesman not on your payroll and people listen to and trust him for the reasons I mentioned above.

You have everything to gain by getting Helas on your side and a lot to lose if you don't!! I know Helas will start on this thread to advise everyone how you made good at the end of the day.

Response in one day, and problems resolved.. not bad. Considering that other vendors on this board have wasted many of the other member's time and money. Even one foolio with the Group Buy wasted everyone's time and money... So this is going in the right direction.

Honestly, even though the issue was resolved, I would try my best to avoid CarsOption to avoid situations like these. I have enough things to worry about as it. Besides there are way too many other alternatives.

Thanks for the heads up Helas.

Thank you for all the support and honesty from this forum. I do hope that some of you will still consider us for your purchases. And in response to Helas friend, it was a huge misunderstanding. As you might have known he went out of the country for a while and that is where everything went wrong.

After he went out I did not hear from him and did not know what he wanted to do. In my defense he was hastile to me when all I wanted to do was resolve the problem. It was not my fault nor his that this lack of comunication happened. But the point is that it did. And now about 4hrs ago FedEx came by and picked up his item fro delievery.

I hope Helas does come back on here and re-explains the situation so that we all understand that is was a error on both our parts in trying our best o please each other we ended up miscommunicating with one another which in turn came out to this.

As for you Smoker I do hope in time you will be able to trust us. And to let you know does not happen often. Like i stated before I have never done an order outside of the US myself before. I was merely going on what my associated were telling me to do. And this is the first time this has ever happened and tend to never make the same mistake twice. Thank you all and I hope I will be see or hearing from you all soon.

I will leave you my link below so that you may visit us and ask us any questions you may have.

For the record! When I was out of the country I contacted Wil and he replied stating that he had a big car show or something he was in the middle of and that he was too busy to handle my complant and if I could call him when I got back. I said ok. DUDE DROP IT! Seriously, by trying to justify yourself time after time to our community, your making yourself look worse.

if you guys are trying to get stuff shipped to you from the US and you don't want to pay DUTY, why don't you use USPS???

I've specifically asked for USPS on items i've ordered from the US, and i've paid 0 duty.. But other times i've used UPS and well, paid for it..

I'm not sure why you didn't just order it from Rosenthal Mazda, one of the vendors on this forum... they have one of the cheapest, (price match) any price on the MS Stuff, and they are an official Mazda dealership.

I dont think they will price match a replica.

I checked there site, its 588 for a primed spolier or 788 (I think) for a painted one.

I can get a replica for 350 and get it painted and installed for 100 or so dollars.

Carsoption.com get in touch with me about my spolier and handled the matters.

The ms spolier is on Backorder but has emailed me about it, He's just a little short handed.

All let you all know when I get it.
