You're not getting it. You don't need an agreement to insure the item. The shipper has the responsibility of insuring because disputes almost always get resolved in the receivers favor. Unless you have an implicit agreement stating that the receiver assumed responsibility for the shipment and would waive the need for insurance to reduce the cost of the shipping you will lose the chargeback case.

The defense of 'there are two sides to every story' isn't important because in this case there's an established process to resolving he-said/she-said stories that the plastic card and banking industries use. Which is why good shipping companies work with the receipient to resolve any shipping issues rather than get stuck with the chargeback process.

Next time insure the shipment.

There is a difference between a PCI chargeback and the 'whatever' that Paypal uses to resolve disputes. Based on your attitude as a shipper if you don't find that out with this transaction you will probably find out about those differences in a future transaction.

gmcmillan,
RK seems to speak from experience. Being a warehouse manager, I understand that a product is the shippers responsibility until the customer has the product and is happy with it.

Also, sorry, I went back on Paypal, I realized you did post a reply, then closed it out.

Anyway, its to bad that stuff like this happens, but I just purchased another headlight on ebay, the person I bought it from has good feedback and the headlight looks great, so hopefully I can get my RX8 fixed up and looking sweet again!

I just want to say thanks to a lot of you guys on here, I'm glad to see that some good people own RX8s!
