It's stupid that using a factory setting such as launch mode voids your warranty. I can see it from their point of view though as anyone who is using "launch mode" is most likely racing which voids your warranty anyways.

Although, what if you're out in the middle of nowhere and you just want to test it out, seems a bit drastic that you can void your warranty just by trying to enjoy your car and test out a few of it's options.

Its really not fair to have a function like that , then you can't use it upon your freewill without voiding the warranty... basically the launch control is a tease. Last gen BMW M3 was the same...everytime you would have work done on your M3 by the dealership, it was mandatory for them to check that black box before they did any work, some dealerships didn't care, but if your dealership was a stickler and they checked that black box and it showed you going to the redline once or frequently , they automatically voided your warranty, they claimed it as "abuse".

Just the fact that Nissan has made the GT-R where it tracks everything you do would be a deal breaker for me (that and the other $40-50g's I would need to come up with). You're buying a g-d sports car for god sakes.

Well, a driver wants to drive a car, not just take it toa long enough straight.
The veyron can do 400km\h but laps WAAAAAY slower than any other car of its class, and that's a shame.

well concerning the Z06 I think it is important to note that the tires you choose are incredibly important. So I have a feeling with something like R compound tires on a track the gap might not be as wide. That is the problem with a lot of the magazines is that htey can become almost a battle of good tires vs power curves. It is super important obviously for the RWD car to try to shrink that gap as much as possible with the AWD car in terms of grip and power delivery. I know a couple people that have raced the GTR's on real road courses(not a dumb street racing bullshit tale) and he is in a Z06 and said that it is pretty much just a great battle when both cars are actually track prepped since you can actually put tires on the car that lets you use all the power the car has without great fear of just roasting them.
