Something tells me they were not kids. I'd like to know. The chrome rims scream mid life crisis to me, a lot of the old Vette guys like chrome rims for some reason.

The guy in the C6 was early-mid 20's... the other guy in the chrome rimmed C5 was, indeed, older. Your instincts were pretty much right. LOL

I knew it! We have a pretty big meet on Fridays here and there is always a large Corvette showing and there are a ton of Vettes with chrome rims and they are all driven by old guys

Mwahahaha~
Gentle left-hand sweeper with high torque RWD and lead foot = FAIL.
Needs more GT5 seat time to convert lead foot and hands into sensitive technical ones.

I was about to say "his mommy drew the line at the C6. A PS3 with GT5 is just down right spoiling your kid."

But actually, it was the older "possible scammer" that lost control isn't it?

Can't really see clearly, but it's possible the C5 driver shifted into second and lost control during the weight transfer, then re-application of WOT.

Yes, you can hear the 1st to 2nd shift immediately preceding the audible tire squeal that was the first indicator (for us) of the back stepping out)

I am almost certain he was granny shifting and not double clutching like he should have been doing.

I wonder what would the insurance company say if the person that took the video "voluntarily" submitted a copy of it to the police to be added to the final police report

I'm sure it is already included in the police report. Considering how fast it got spread through various social media, it's unlikely that the insurance company isn't already aware of the video.

And it's unlikely they would pay out a dime.

True. It was probably the Motec exhaust that put him over the 600WHP mark, it was just putting down too much power.

At least they were not going too fast. I had a friend who hit a wall doing a buck 20 a couple of years ago.

Nah, a couple of SR20's. He paid a premium for them a week before the race.
