Question Whining sound

When my 05' RX 8 is idling it makes a whining sound, but when I engage the clutch pedal the sound goes away and all I can here is the engine. I have recently replaced my flywheel and my clutch. This sound was there before I did all that though. Anyone have any ideas of what it might be?

Where does the sound comes from? It might be a loose belt, alternator, speakers.

Mine makes a UFO/Purring sound....

Knowing WHERE the sound is coming from would be a good thing to know.

yea i meant when the clutch is disengaged... pedal in.. it makes the sound. I ve read some about some people seem to aurgue its just the sound of the gear in neutral. My car didnt make that sound originally, and I didnt get it new....this isnt my actual video but it is the exact same thing that my car is doin...

the sound sounds like it is coming from some where near where the actual pedal is... up under the hood obviously. Some one has said it could be a throw out bearing..

IIRC there were a few threads about this and I *think* it was "transmission gear roll over noise" someone called it. In either case, my did this until the clutch was taken out and put back together; haven't had an issue since.
