I had a 2001 Orient Red Porsche 911 Carrera w/ factory stage 1 sports suspension, high gloss (their version of chrome) rims, & upgraded leather & upgraded stereo. Funny, but now with the upgrades to my RX8 suspension & brakes I think it corners and brakes just as well !

traded in a red 93 at corvette with borla and K&N. She was costing me too much money in maintenance and had a jumpy suspension and everything rattled. There is something to be said for 340ft lbs of torque from the factory. I think about her sometimes too.

I traded a Red 2001 Mustang coupe. I've always been in love with the Rotary engine since my first car in 1973--a red RX3 coupe. I also grew up in Detroit where the Mach I and Shelby GT ruled Michigan Avenue on the weekends. I could hear Detroit dragway from my house in the downriver area. I really loved to drive my 'stang, sure it was only a coupe and was just an automatic, but it ran great, got decent gas mileage--like 26 mpg hwy and was fun to drive. I put 60,000 plus miles on it in 3 years. That car took really good care of me as I cruised at 80 mph in New York bound traffic, it did whatever I needed it to do, handled well and I really wish I hadn't had to trade. (insert sob here). I was looking for a good used '95 RX7 until the RX8 appeared. I actually got my first real look at the 8 at a car show at Stabler Arena near Allentown, PA and was hooked again! My 8 is my 4th Rotary. As my 2nd car I'd pick up a newer used Mustang in a heartbeat!

RX8 is a big jump for me, I was driving a 2002 Ford Focus ZTS (sedan) Mach edition.

Not knocking the Focus, it was a nice little car. Not one problem the whole 36K miles I put on it.

Sweetness, I hope its not too late for a secondary question tacked on here, but any of you ever...eh, regret is too strong a word, but have you ever felt at times, "boy I loved that car, I should've......"? Yes, I know no one should ever do the "woulda shoulda coulda" but curious. Also, it seems quite the diverse gauntlet of vehicles here, although aside from a couple I haven't seen many make a jump from AWD to the 8. Do you all think that is a viable jump?

Thanks again, and since I haven't stated yet, my previous were:
86 626 -> 87 626 -> 91 626 -> 98 Dakota (never again) -> 00 Legacy -> 00 Audi -> 0? RX-8 (hopefully soonish and probably red)

I am in the process now of selling my 3rd gen RX-7, and that is a car that I love. So, I know I will go through some "withdrawals", but I am also confident in my decision that it is the right thing to do at this time.

I will always remember her fondly though!

I made the jump from my first car, a 2000 Ford Escort ZX2 Five-Speed. It had around 120 whp and was a little bit of fun for a 16 year old. My dad decided that i was ready and responsible so we went down to the dealer together, the Escort had 72,000 miles on it and i got $6,000 for it. I was decently happy with that, because it is about what it's worth. I picked up a 2004 Winning Blue RX-8 6-Speed and the rest is history!
