Being at the other extreme, thought I'd reply: an '86 Accord, 180k mi. The car donation places that take anything won't take it. I've stepped up a bit...

My Previous car was 2000 BMW 328I. It was my first car out of school and paid over 40K after tax and did bunch of mods including springs, thicker adjustable sway bars, intake, ECU, full cat-back exhaust,etc.. I loved the car a lot but I put over 50K miles and warranty was out. As you all know, maintenance gets really expensive for bimmers after the warranty is out so I traded it in for my 8. I still miss my bimmer once a while but I never regretted getting my 8.

I swore I'd never own a vehicle without a hatchback, but I made an exception for the RX8:

'02-'04: 2002 Subaru WRX wagon
'99-'02: 1995 Acura Integra GSR
'97-'99: 1988 VW Golf
'91-'93: 1988 Honda CRX Si
'90-'91: 1977 AMC Hornet wagon

93 Camaro Z28 - sold it to buy the 8
98 Volvo C70 - traded it in on the 8

both were modified. The Z28 was pushing 360 rwhp, and the C70 was about 275 fwhp (with ~300 ft-lbs torque, lots of torque steer :D ).

Still very happy with my decision. Though when my warranty runs out (28000 miles to go), I'll either upgrade to a 6-port 8 with a sequential gearbox (if available) or TC/SC this one.

2001 Suzuki Grand Vitara is my current car.

2004 Pontiac Montana is my wife's car..

My wife is losing her car (it's a company car and she is quitting). What I hope to do--give her my Suzuki and get an RX8.

2003 Infiniti G35 Coupe... loaded to the max... bought it last year in March, drove it until October, bought an 87 Nissan pickup, stored the infiniti all winter, and traded it in for my 8...

no regrets :D
