While 98% of the cars in this thread are VERY shoddy and in what most would consider poor taste, the opinions toward the vinyl wrapped exotics being "ruined" or "stupid" make me shake my head more than seeing a shitty Eclipse with an unpainted body kit. Need I remind you that A- taste is subjective, and a vinyl wrap on a 458 DOESN'T detract from the fact that the car is still a work of art from an engineering and performance standpoint and B- We're all driving Mazda's that get walked by Camry's.

 

So....what's your point? To turn a phrase borrowed from a U.S. Chief Justice..."I can't define taste, but I know it when I don't see it". This thread is popular and continues as an outlet for those that feel the same.
A statement of the obvious. And no one is claiming that. Note the thread title "What not to do to your car". Vinyl wrapping one would fall under lack of taste....if you've got a picture of such a car, please post so we can all make an example of the owner. And we'll skip my opinion on the 458 concerning things like "snob-appeal", "value", "reliability" and if I could afford it, what other cars are WAY better in terms of engineering and performance for the money.

Owned my FD for 12 years and about 80k. Never left me on the side of the road. And ANY Ferrari would make an FD look as reliable as you're lack of interest in girls. Maybe even more reliable than their lack of interest in you.

I know the guy that owns that car from a facebook group. It was boosted for a while. and hes pretty knowledgable about these cars. I happen to like the camo pattern wrap. Judge me.

 

For a while? Pretty Knowledgable? ok. That car never ran right, it's a prime example of a lack of proper, prior, planning and why the Renesis gets bad rap when it comes to turbocharging because so many go about it in a half assed manner. And now he is doing an REW swap (or maybe it was an LS swap) I heard, that should end horribly.
