Thanks for the pics Pink Flea. that blue POS is freakin sweet! I should do that to my car.
Ok, this is not really the place for this topic, but I cant resist.
I am an atocrosser. it is a blast. it is very hard and very technical. it truly shows you how you rank as a driver, and it shows you how well your car is set up. (or not). It gives you a new perspective on mods. like when someone tells me they got a new grill..... who cares, it did nothing to the performance of your car. (no I am not dissing astetic mods, just prooving my point). the grip levels are insane. you cant dog Autocrossers, if you do, you have clearly never done it.... or your not good at it and got laughed off the track.
now as for drifting I think its awsome! I have been to many D1 events and I have to say the skill level is amazing for the pro drivers. the fact that they can controll a car that is pretty much out of control is freakin amazing. and it's a blast to watch!
now with that said, I would never drift. talk about a wase of tires. the sport is for fun. it's a judged event which means your at the mercy of what "they think". in "real" racing there is a clear winner and a clear loser. In drifting if the judge does not like you or your style, you simply dont move on because he said so.
if you have a set of tires that you cant find something better to do with, then great, go have some fun. but how could anyone afford to roast a set of tires in just a matter of minutes, unless you are a pro and have a major sponsor? what you end up with is a bunch of low budget, crappy "drifters" that think they are cool because they were able to afford a few crappy used stock tires that they can slide on.
NON pro drifting is not impressive to me. there is liittle to no smoke, the drift angle is poor, speeds are low, and 9 times out of 10 the car is a POS like all the ones in this thread.

20s and lambo doors are really big here in santa ana too...they even got a "cruise night" were everyone gets to gets together and shows off their cars i tend to think its really "wabby" and definitely not my taste. but A LOT of people are always hyped up about it and think its cool, i dont.

you should come to Socal, we beat all you in bling yo!!
btw, drift > grip
if you would like to die soon
besides, I love drifting, its riskier than gripping
but any retard can tell you that, if a car drifts around a corner vs a car gripping around a corner at the same speed, the gripper wins

not everyone have mommys and daddys to spoil them or have awsome disposable incomes to go to "advance driving school", paid instructors, and brand spanking new cars to learn to drive in.
ppl don't drift to be fast, it was to have fun. not everyone really cares about how fast u can get there, is if you can have fun while doing it.

Spotted these offenders this week.
Please make note of the handicap tag- perhaps this is granny's stang.
This one doesn't look too bad- your average Civic with a fart can and euro lights...
...until you get up close.

Yes that is very popular here in the south... Lets find the ugliest cheapest car we can find and make it as ghetto as possible.
