^You're trolling, right...?

While I'll always love my Rotary, an LSX swap is one of the better swaps to do (with a reasonable budget, it's no 3 rotor!)

no im not trolling. But if I wanted a 4 door corvette, I could just get a Pontiac G8 or a Cadillac CTS-V
nor do I think an RX8 transmission can handle that much power going through it. I guess its personal opinion.. I wouldnt do it

People have managed 50/50 distribution in LS swapped 7's, so I would not be surprised if you could manage it in an 8 as well. It would take some work, but the people who are actually doing that kind of swap are probably capable of doing that work. Not sure what you mean by reliability... The only reason they should have reliability issues is if they messed something up. The LS1 is supposed to be a pretty reliable engine. Even if you account for the exaggerated unreliability of the renesis, the LS1 is almost definitely more reliable.

Both the G8 and CTS-V are about 1000 pounds heavier. The swap would not account for that difference, so you'd still end up with a significantly lighter car. It could also be cheaper than the CTS-V by quite a bit, especially if you find an 8 with a blown motor. Like you said, it's personal opinion for the most part. I doubt the type of person that wants to do a build like that would see something like the CTS-V or G8 as an alternative. The build itself is probably part of their enjoyment as well as the uniqueness. How many LS powered G8's/CTS-V's are there? How many LS powered RX-8's?

Didn't see any info posted in that link, but pretty sure they didn't try to use the stock rx-8 transmission...

That's a rebody of a Fiero. I used to be a huge Pontiac Fiero fan. That rebody is called the Finale kit, there's also another kit called the Fino from the same company. By far, one of the uglier rebodies.

I knew long before I read the part about it being your car, that it was going to end up being your car lol.

Now are we talking about drifting it into the wall, or blacking out the side markers:P Cause both are a no no :P

it slid to the left so i countersteered left, and then right, and momentum came in and said **** you i want to go backwards, and i think i hit it from 30-50 mph.

and you see that rear wheel? see the divider? its putting the whole face onto the divider = broken axle. also im not sure about this, but the front wheel looks like its turned way too much, so that may be screwed up, i think someone has to verify that, as i dont have it in my possession right now.

Sorry, I had to! That just popped in my head when I first read that. Definitely sucks to have a care about damaged... there were a bunch of insurance delays when my 8 was damaged so it took forever to begin work and get my car back. It was really frustrating to deal with but made me realize how much fun I had in that car. Hope you're able to get your car fixed and back on the road quickly.

Since you have a LY, it's clearly an 04... how many miles? I'm sure it's crossed your mind, but I'd guess that insurance might consider that totaled. It's hard to tell exactly what all was damaged, but that passenger side door has me thinking there might be some serious bends in the frame with the way it's sitting. Not sure how you're hoping this to turn out, but hopefully things work out the way you'd like.

I don't get what you mean by your first sentence? So no offense taken? And everything has crossed my mind, rare car, rare color, rare rims, damnit. It has 87k miles on it, but I needed it running to go to las vegas on tuesday.. So I'm hoping my parents will let me take the cadillac or something, as we have 2 other cars besides that. But if they total it, I'm fixing it myself, I need this car, I don't need any other car, just this one. I have a bond with it, and I'm not going to let a little accident break it

you talked about keeping the car though and fixing it, unless that rants done? just curious what the insurance company buy back is. (The amount the insurance company wants for you to buy back the car from them).
