Hey Charlie,

Yeah, the thought did cross my mind...

Mazda Australia does not Retail to the public or any other company..that has been their policy for years, having said that they may have struck a deal with them buying Mazda 2's through one of the larger Retail Mazda Dealers.

evMe Company, would not be permitted to import them direct from Japan at the very least without some consent from MA and I really doubt that also.

Any new car has to conform with ADR (Australian Design Rules) for safety etc, so these cars are made for Australia by MMC.

I am pretty sure MA would not be that pleased that their cars are being altered, engines taken out etc.

I wonder how evMe's get around any new car warranty issues as they are not a Mazda Dealer sanctioned to repair any faults, say a leaking tail lamp or brake issue.

I guess the evMe's are covered by their own warranty and if their was an issue repairs would be none by the selling dealer/manufacturer and would buy replacement parts form a Mazda Dealer.

I only glanced at the FAQ's.

I wonder what they do with all the new gasoline 1.5 engines, ideal opportunity for a young entrepreneur to start up a new category of motor-sport say in an open wheeler?...then again? MMMmmm??

Ash

i wonder where those drivetrains are going myself. Emily seems to be talkative. Maybe Ill follow up with her...

Hi Charlie,

Mazda2 is only the frame of the car and can be changed very easily depending on the requirements of the client. At the moment we are looking into similar cars for the prototyping phase as the Mazda 2 is becoming a little dated for our technology. But if you would like a Mazda2 model, there are many ways to get one as you have mentioned including providing us with the frame from your choice of dealer.
Thank you Charlie for your inquiry,

Emily Sullivan

Charlie,...Somehow I am thinking that YOU buy the Mazda 2 and then take it to them for the conversion?...expensive for 70K AUD.

obiouvsely i was talk about commercial issues ( the customer side)

if you sell that 6 2.2 in the future 3 o 4 years you might expect a cut of value because is not €5 but only €4, or you might have the downtown closed because the car not fit the strictiest limits..exc.....
those are all the bull*hits that we have here in EU.

for the average politic here ----->cars= evil.
